If I ever needed a heart transplant I’d want to get Tiffany’s. After all it’s obvious it doesn’t get used much.

I was thinking “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap” by AC/DC… ^Yeah, and also if Tiffany was on the album cover, she’d probably stand the wrong way, and miss the little black line that’s supposed to be covering her eyes.. then, she’d complain that it was somebody else’s fault, and by that point, her word balloon would have been included on the cover, and she’d probably have messed up the whole shot!…

Wow, Tiff, didn’t think you could get any more underhanded. Still, she may be sneaky, dishonest and completely unprofessional, by at least she’s consistent.

Maybe the story payoff is coming tomorrow, or next week, and everything will be clearer as to what’s going on, here…. maybe this is just a setup to something…. not the lying part, but the whole “why she’s here in the first place”… sometimes, in their “Tiffs” between each other, the plot gets revealed…

Yeah, the next applicant task… she is no longer the next apprentice!..

I don’t buy it. Does anyone imagine that the principal doesn’t have at least one office staff person, secretary, receptionist, or whatever right there in the office? For that matter, in this day and age, he’d have to be very careful about interviewing a hot little number like Tiff with no one around.

Tiffany would have to have been announced by someone in the outer office before she was sent in to talk to the guy. She must have known that Luann would have been checked in by the same office staff.

In the real-world, Tiff would just have wrecked her chances by telling an obvious lie. Hiring people with extremely bad judgment and poor credibility is just not something an elementary school principal would do.

So, we see from the sign on his door that Mr. Very-Big-Chin is the principal of Lincoln Elementary. And are we to assume that he does not know how many applicant interviews have been scheduled for him? I think Miss Farrell has not only stabbed her more-or-less friend in the back but also perhaps herself, The Woman in Red.

When I saw that profile of Tiffany, it actually reminded me of Nancy. But I like your comparison better!

This is exactly what I meant yesterday when I wrote, “The only reason Tiffany is applying for this particular job is so that Greg Evans can continue to get revenge on her, which is one of his main sources of satisfaction in life, apparently.”

Earlier people on this forum were speculating that lots of retired (or laid-off) teachers, college students, and others struggling on this tight economy would all be applying for this great part-time job. Today we see that the waiting room of applicants is filled by… exactly one person. This strip has no pretense at realism; rather, it is just a vehicle for Greg Evans to get in some more digs aimed at Tiffany. I’m sure that amuses him, but shouldn’t a comic strip be intended to amuse its readers instead?

@ says seismic-2, I don’t think comics have to reflect reality at all. I found it funny. that’s the only criterion for me. Sure he’s digging at Tiffany, it’s his character. There are Tiffany’s all over the place. Just as there are Gunther’s and Delta’s. But the point of a comic strip is to entertain. That’s why I read it and I’m FAR from a teenager.

1) Why does Tiff want this job? She apparently doesn’t need the money. It would not further her career as a celebrity. Kids apparently don’t interest her.*2) On the other hand, if one or two of the kids recognize her from the photo frames in Wal-Mart (that’d be a quick turnaround, sure), she’d be an instant hit with the kids. Tiff may not be academically gifted or talented in acting, but she is making a nice career for herself nonetheless.*(Would YOU hire someone who wore a skirt that short to work with kids? On the other hand, Luann hasn’t dressed to impress.)

Someday Tiff really needs to be taken to the doghouse and left there for good. Makes me crazy.

It just so happens that Tiffany used to be a cheerleader. But then she started misusing her cellphone. Tiffany recorded Luann while she was changing in the gym room (long story!), and later tried to blackmail Luann for a Moby Dick essay that she scored an A on. When she wouldn’t, Tiff had broadcast what is now known as “The Luann Video”.Thankfully, Gunther was able to find proof of Tiff’s wrongdoing, and Luann was finally able to expose her.Tiffany was suspended, got booted from the cheerleading squad, and the principal took her cellphone.There’s no greater punishment than having your cellphone taken from you.

Wow! I REALLY like Tiffany.

Everyone is saying “The Principal will see Luann on his way out”, but, if Tiff runs true to form, she will tell Luann that she’s been hired and tell Lu to leave; in the old days, Luann would be fooled… the newer, smarter, more confident Luann may push Tiff out of the way and walk into the office herself… can’t wait to see what happens.

Luann most likely heard what Tiff said. The door was partially open, and Luann is not wearing earbuds.

So tired of the Tiffany vs. Luann line. Tiffany is a typical narcissist. I think I’m done for a while also.

My prediction: Tiffany won’t last a week with Shannon. My hope: The principal will look through the applicants, which have been filed instead of destroyed, and call Luann.

They wouldn’t hire Tiffany for this job even if she was the only applicant. She would be terrible with children. And she would hate working with them.

Tiffany was banned from cheerleading a few years ago (our time) when she should have been arrested for child pornography and blackmail.

You’re lucky if you live somewhere that you stillare offered a truly lesser lesser evil to choose.Most places nowadays there’s no ‘lesser evil’ on offer — all are equally bad and distasteful.

When Tiffany gets out of school – she’d better bag a guy and deliver the goods. No one else in the real world is going to put up with her.

Besides, Tiffany will have to pass Luann to exit. Luann is certainly gutsy enough to knock on the interviewer’s door herself.

And why IS his nameplate on the inside of his door?

Maybe it’s that if he keeps his door “open” all the time, people will know it’s the principal’s office. Just like the word “ecnalubmA” on the front of an “ambulance” so it can be seen correctly in one’s rear view mirror. (Sorry I don’t have a “reverse mirror” font) ;-)

Also, it is possible that this position was only advertised through the school.

Maybe this will be a story arc that allows us to see a little bit into Tiffany’s character a bit, including her insecurities. Yes, she’s supposed to be a “villain” in the Luanniverse, but she can still be written as the antagonist even if we get a glimpse to the method behind the madness, so to speak.

I used to do that a lot, but not at the comics section. Mostly the front page news…. now that I’m on blood pressure meds, I avoid reading the news. The short ‘news-ette’ reports on TV, between all the car commercials, don’t usually have enough detail to send my blood pressure up, but if I feel that happen, I just hit the ‘mute’ button on the remote.

this makes me mad….not what i read the comics for. the cartoonists usually gets it all sorted out in the end, but i can’t embrace the upcoming journey. i hope the dispatch of Tiffany goes quickly, but if she’s as good an actor as everyone seems to think, she could actually get away with it

On the flip side – it seems Tiffany is intimated by the fact Luann is there. Tif must know she won’t stand a chance if they interview Luann.

Huh?Luann doesn’t have a family fortune.Some college girls join sororities. Haven’t heard of any joining fraternities.

Most of us read comics in order to AVOID politics. But I will say one thing: lack of ethics is present in all political parties and among all partisan people. No one has a monopoly on unethical conduct, when the only thing seen as important is winning at all costs.

teens have been charged with child pornography for ‘sexting" photos of themselves or an acquaintance. Besides getting them expelled, they can often be tried as adults in court (even if under 18). If Greg ran that scenario today, he’d be raising a whole lot more issues and problems than in the past.

Yes, that might be considered the “provocative factor” these days (ie. the act of sexting or transmission of the content over a public network), even if done by one’s self. But, most importantly, what is the person doing in the photo? I’d think a naked “self-portrait” of someone under age does indeed qualify as “provocative.”

When has Luann used violence to solve a problem? Just asking, because I haven’t been reading the strip for that long….

I’d argue that, with the exception of 02-08-00, all of these were of Tiff initially attacking Lu, physically, and Lu defending herself.

That’s one of the major reasons I need the newspaper too. Used to have a lot of birds (canaries, zebra finches, and gouldian finches), now I just have my little parrot, a maroon bellied conure. Besides that, I’m a readaholic, so I do like my newspaper, especially with my meals.

It stems back to 1976 when I was 19. I purchased a 1974 Pontiac Formula 455 that was a little over a year old. I still have it with 68,000 original miles and the original window sticker. It kind of looks like a Trans – Am but did not have the ‘screaming chicken’ on the hood. Same color as the standard Firebird used in “The Rockford Files” (Denver Gold).

And, to think, all I got was the “loan” of my dad’s old VW Beetle. Although, it did have an “electric” stick (just touch the stick and the clutch engaged… You had to push down for 1st or Rev.). That was pretty cool… ;-PPP How times have changed. My 17 y/o niece’s BF drives a B’Mer. {heavy sigh}

And, to reciprocate, mine means absolutely nothing. Totally random. A “security” thing I learned a long time ago… well… “7” is my lucky number… ;-)

Just FTR, this was @howtheduck’s quote, not mine, but I concur with your response. A clear cut case of bullying/harassment and coercion/blackmail, and worthy of Tiff being exiled from the cheer leading squad, and barred from working with children (and, hence, the job she’s seeking), if not worse. But, baring knowledge of what the picture is depicting, it’s not “child porn.”

I no longer get newspapers, new magazine, or watch news programs. I had to stop because I would have ended up throwing a coke bottle into the TV screen. I learn what is going on from listening to conversations. I don’t know about all the crap going on in the world any more and have no plans to change

I don’t watch the MSM on TV, anymore. I do read Internet sources, as it’s more difficult to spin emotions/agendae in printed text than it is in an audio/visual medium. The “political leanings” are of no consequence to me, I can tell which way the given source is leaning and why. I just try and extract the facts where I can. “Friends close… enemies closer.”

I like the fact that everyone here is too polite to say what everyone but one is thinking. I am inspired by you all even though this post could be considered a “slip”. Deep cleansing breaths, lol.

Would you think the law should be involved if some pervert was putting cameras in the bathrooms? Or would that just be “boys will be boys”? What Tiffany did was exactly the same thing, even if Greg thought it was OK to downplay it.
