Trepidation?? Try horror. The sexualization of little girls is NOT cute, it is truly scary. Neither Mike nor Elizabeth understand the message her behavior is sending, but you can bet every pedophile that sees her will interpret that message as an invitation. This is one time Elly, and any mother in her position, needs to put her foot down and devise a different, age-appropriate costume for her child.
well there goes Mommy’s little princess/pumpkin/ghost/what ever cute little girl costume of the past. They grow up so fast, BUT I don’t think that particular costume is good for one so young.
LOL my friends and I did this when I was 12, torn jeans, glittery makeup, colorful hair, the works. When we rang bells, we yelled ‘Like, trick-or-treat, dude!’
Dearest Charm School graduate: parental supervision was not able to protect two little girls in a Walmart in Florida from the predator following them with his camera phone tucked carefully under the dog food bag in the bottom of his cart, while he photographed under their skirts. Or any of the other numerous actions taken by pedophiles masquerading as concerned religious leaders, scout leaders, etcetera. People like you who constantly sneer at parents who try to protect their children are one of the reasons why.
It is a complete mystery to many readers why someone who HATES a character nevertheless messes up her day by reading about the character. Why not find a comic more to your taste? I’m sure there are plenty of women hating comics you can frequent and praise.
Honestly, I don’t see the problem with the punk rocker thing. Punk rockers are not sexy, they are rebellious. It looks like a baggy T-shirt and a pair of black shorts to me, but I assume it is supposed to be a skirt. As a parent, I would instantly upgrade the outfit by having her change into jeans or put on a pair of leggings underneath.
That said, I would REALLY love it if someone would create a Halloween store that did not sell even one sexy or revealing costume. I would be even happier if costumes were warm and designed to be worn with a layer underneath.
You are absolutely correct, and thanks for saying this. The problem is in the mind of the rapist. It doesn’t matter what the target of the rapist does – the rapist is all about control and hurting someone. Rape happened to a nun in a locked convent; rape and murder happened to a woman in her ’80’s recuperating from surgery in her home.
We can see the smug, superior expression on the face of the poster who believes that it is always the parent’s fault for not supervising enough if a pedophile succeeds.

Now, you know the effects of watching too much TV….especially shows that are way above her head. Mom hasn’t been supervising her activities enough.

I agree! Costumes should be funny or scary, not a “sexy” version of that.

That must have been the expression you had when you responded to Leslie. “Parental supervision” is not the cure for all ills.

If a parent disapproves, you know you’re on to something.

Hey, stop with the screaming and bitching already. If you dish it out, expect to receive the same.

I thought the whole idea of the “punk” phenomenon was to p*ss off parents.
