Quill compromises with ease and wit. But Luann is being clingy and demanding and, yes, self-centered to a worrisome degree. It is Luann who needs to [learn to] adjust her behavior and be more accommodating to Quill. A relationship that is largely one-sided in its focus will not ultimately survive….

Quill thinks he has solved the problem, because he wants a career. It was his career excuse for coming in the first place. He wants a wife and career. Can he have both? we shall see.

It is a good decision that Quill is making. He does well in theatrical work but is a lousy cook. However, there was some foreshadowing in the George and Martha Washington arc. Tiffany was only chosen because someone gave a big donation. We shall see.

Hey Greg and Karen, this is NOT the 50s & 60s where girls were still expected to get married right out of high school. Many gals are getting married in their 30s.So stop the antiquated actions of Luann wanting to get married at 18/19.

@gkid: I’m beginning to suspect that the notice for Mrs. Horner’s memorial service got lost in the mail some months ago. Either that or she’s run off to South America with Lawrence’s dad from For Better or for Worse.

Is Quill getting paid for the job at Moony U? There are questions he’s going to have to answer with the Immigration people if he bails on the job he claimed he had when he applied for a work visa, or permit, or whatever.

And I wonder if he’s staying at Gunther’s place (does Gunther have a last name?) for free, or has Q’s father made some deal with G’s mom? Is Quill supposed to be picking up some share of the groceries, or paying rent?

I know, I know, it’s just a comic. I have this annoying habit of expecting things to make sense in context. Where did Cain get his wife?

I’m not liking how Luann is behaving lately. Stop making her look like such a psycho!

Hey, she’s just out of high school. She’s real with this. And Quill has it covered. Cut the young woman some slack. They’re both in love.

How long will it take Luann to figure it all out?

1. Also get a job at Moony Univ. in the theater department. (time together)

2. Pick up Quill and drive to work. (time together)

3. Decide to go the Moony Univ. in the fall instead of community college. (more time together)

Gunther can be quite the “ham” at times(cough, cough, awwwaaaak…)

=======I agree with you, but we are increasingly in the minority. Ironically, it’s usually girls and women who are accused of ‘wanting it all’ when they hope for a career as well as a significant other. Here, where the guy is doing this and the girl is calling him on it, SHE is seen as whiney and needy rather than realistic.

Why isn’t Luann doing any more acting and singing? She is obviously good at both, and they are things that she has in common with Quill (although he’s more experienced). Expressing oneself artistically can work wonders. MM doesn’t know that Luann exists. Quill should introduce them.

Luann sure is becoming a high maintenance girlfriend. It’s too bad she can’t allow herself to be happy with the wonderful opportunity she’s been given. She shouldn’t be complaining about not having every spare minute of Quill’s time and make the most of she does get. Everything he has done so far has been so he can be near her, yet that still isn’t enough. If this were a real relationship, I’d be worried about it.

It’s not clear to me that “intelligence” is a prime requirement for a job as a short-order cook in a food truck. Perhaps it would be a job for Ox? He certainly knows his fast food, having consumed everything on the menu at Weenie World and Burger Box (perhaps in a single meal?) using the credit card that his parents gave him for that purpose. Maybe he can use that familiarity with the product to learn how to cook it as well as eat it.

Look at the green all around— Pitts is definitely NOT in Ohio!(Quill makes even a silly Christmas sweater seem cute.)
