Computer programmers need to keep changing things to try to justify their employment, otherwise they become overpaid maintenance workers. With manufacturers it’s all about getting consumers to buy the newest and latest toys.
And that’s why I still have a little red ball next to Settings. Besides which, I heard it runs a lot slower on the older models. And I’m so rich I have a 4.
I thought someone was trying to genetically modify roaches to sport a little rally stripe down it’s back a couple years back… Nature’s handy little household scavenger!
Don’t know that the recent OS is a big improvement, however, there should be some nice new features on the iPhone 6. The battery should be partially solar powered, for example. That has been a long time in coming. At the same time, GT made his point about the new look on the OS. Way to go, GT.
“That’s also why a computer designed today is obsolete in 6 months.”There’s a lot of nonsense about how much better the next generation is. But over time, computers have improved. Yo could view this site on an aging iMac or Windows 98 system, but the experience wouldn’t be good.Apple’s interface redesign is all about making it easier for them to use the system on non-phone devices like iOS for cars.
I don’t mind change if it is improvement. Apple’s new look ISN’T. I hate it. The old look was elegant and warm. The new look is cold, flat, boring, ugly, and unpleasant to behold. However, many of the non-visual improvements are very much appreciated.

If nothing ever changed, how would marketers convince us to buy the latest gadget we don’t know we needed?

Also, change keeps others off balance, which is a way of holding power. And Ralph Nader said change discourages counterfeiting.

If something is changed 100 times there’s a good chance that one of the changes might actually be an improvement.

Wish cartoonists would learn that “How come” is not a word. Wish everyone would. Other then that cringe worthy sentence, nice set of panels.

Great jab at Apple, and SUCH an interesting contrast to the weekday strips — how far GT’s drawing skills have evolved over the years!

Yes, one should always say why, never how come.

Count me among the refuseniks. Sticking w 6 on the pad and 4.3 on my beloved touch. The appearance is hideous and user hostile.

No, that would be “Upgrade” Update is just newer, and as we all know that sometimes does not mean “better”.
