Only thing I hate about being retired is some days I get so bored, others I am so busy the day flies………..but I agree, there are days that if I don’t watch the news I have no idea what day It is.
Ben, you woke up your wife to ask her what day it is? :-(I’m with Jean. Retirement sounds great, but unless you have a plan to do something, I would be bored after a month of doing nothing.
Hope I make it to retirement. have 12 years left to go. By then the government will raise the age to 72 and I will never even get to feel what it would have been like because I will probably be dead………………. At least I can hope………..
I love that my boyfriend is even more into activities than I. We are starting to combine our interests. I’m getting into his square dancing; he’s getting into my SCA. We both like doing lapidary and silverwork and we’re in our 70s. I just met him last November (online-in person December), and couldn’t be happier!
Easy, get up take pills from day of the week pill box. Whatever day is the first to have pills is what day it is.
Technically we are not retired. He quit his job about 6 years ago (at my suggestion) as he was getting burned out working with emotionally disturbed children and switched jobs – to one as a starving artist with a patroness (me). Unfortunately due to the economy I have lost most of my accounting/bookkeeping clients and the interest on our savings/IRAs are gone.
We work together, in addition to being craft artists and my almost gone practice he does mental health counseling online, in the same bedroom office. The only time we are apart is when I go to my EGA meeting and one client a month and when I lose him in Walmart, Target, Costco, etc. I was not prepared for the lose of privacy I feel since he is with me all the time. I was the better driver, but I feel that I am losing my skills – he suffers from motion sickness and I cannot drive him in the car, he has to do all the joint driving.

I know the feeling. If I didn’t read the comic, I probably wouldn’t know what day it is, either.

Still a few years away for me—still planning for it. In the meantime, I live retirement vicariously through this comic strip:)
