Gunther: "What happened?!"
Luan: "Quill twisted his knee"
Quill: "Surf injury... Gotta bind it..."
Rosa: "With what?"
Quill: "Ok! Let's catch that bus!"
Rosa: "Yu mean the one that just drove off?"
So, maybe “Sheriff” wasn’t throwing out a red herring… there’ll be a long red “limo” with a “whoooo-whoooooooh” and “HONNNNK!” with lights, and with a hook and ladder aboard…. – Oh, that cumberbund! What can’t it do? Now it’s a knee brace…
Somehow I knew they were never going to be on that bus… However, its nice to see that Luann’s general overall attitude has changed to be more accepting of the predicament that the kids find themselves in… Now that we don’t have to deal with Luann’s snarkyiness, the story can proceed with the four of them pulling together to figure out how to go from Point A (where they are) to Points B & C (the restaurant and the prom). I think this storyline is getting better IMO… ;)
“Rough Riders”“Knee’s Company”“The Ties That Bind’“Stirred, But Not Shaken, And With A Twist”“We Missed ’Er, Mister!”“The Ok A y Team "“Twisted Sister Brother”or “♪..We’re Not Gonna Make It…No, We Ain’t Gonna Make It…♪”
“♪……I close my eyes only for a moment, and tit has gone Same old song, rush hour’s leaving, though you refuse to see…Now, don’t hang on, and you will miss it when it flies by… It slips away, and all your money won’t give you a ride…Dust in the wind.. that bus is gone like dust in the wind….♪”
Get on your phone and call a taxi, Gunther. And no dancing at the dance for you, Quill. Now can we learn whether Delta and Bernice were in the accident that has traffic tied up? That’s a situation that would dwarf these minor misfortunes.
And Now (drum roll…), I really Am signing off (for whatever That is worth, LOL….she says as she ducks the flying tomatoes…) Which Reminds me, anyone remember “The Attack of the Killer Tomatoes”?! Heheheh… ’Nite all…again! ;)
Bernice and Delta will be driving by from feeding their family in need and will see the group on the street corner. Everyone will pile into Bernice’s car and arrive ensemble at the prom. Quill and Luann will be voted King and Queen, MUCH to Tiffany’s chagrin but Quill will give the crown to Gunther since he REALLY saved the evening and everyone will have a great end to the night.
As I suspected yesterday, Rosa and Gunther have sacrificed their chance at the bus in order to help the fallen Quill, using the trusty Guntherite cummerbund. At least Luann has come to her senses. Now, if only we knew some firemen who might come riding in a rescue wagon….
Yeah, seriously, who would NOT pick them up — just to hear their story? Studies show that very few psycho-killer hitchhikers wear tuxedos and formal gowns, however rumpled.
Okay, ENOUGH. Someone Cue Brad/Toni’s Fire Truck so That They Can Plow through this INSANE Traffic Jam and “Save The Day”.
And While You Kiddies are riding on Top of the Truck going WEEEEEEEEEEE. You Might Ask Yourself, HOW Come Everybody Else MADE it to the Prom ON TIME???
Why don’t they just call one of the parents like Luann’s? It is no great shame in getting help from a parent to go from one place to another. As well as that limo company should have arranged to pick up the kids after the first one got hit.
Actually, someone called “missing the bus” a bit closer… – I know, because in discussing it with “RB”, I was bringing up earlier in the day the “trials and tribulations” of what happens when you delay yourself in missing the bus, etc And then you replied to me about it…
Yesterday was my late day at work so ran errands for a client beforehand— which involved crossing an unpaved section. It was 120 paces, and I now walk about 2 1/2 feet per pace. I was one block, and took me, on the grass, 8 minutes. (But not in heels.)
I’m goin’ dancin’ in the evenin’./Oom Pha! the band is gonna play./Kick up an rumpus But don’t lost the compass;/ And get me to the dance, Get me to the dance,/For Gawd’s sake, get me to the dance today!
-I don’t know Mr. Evans as well as many of the posters here (or as well as they think they know him). But, considering the way he showed Luann trying to scale a fence in a long dress while the guy she thought cared for her was trying to take pics, my understanding of Evan’s humor may differ from yours. To me, it would be perfectly logical to conclude that the group would spend the evening in the emergency room and never get near the prom.
Nice touch to add the “6 minutes later” box since yesterday Gunther says that the bus arrives in 4 minutes.A bonus, we get to see Gunther’s cummerbund. A very nice blue check!
This is beginning to get on my nerves. I know Luann said it would be a “night to remember” but I’d like for them to GET there already!!! Augh! This is just Greg’s way of keeping us glued to it! Grrrrr….
How did they get so ratty-looking walking across a field of grass? I thought we’d be seeing plowed furrows or high plants or something. Heck, they could be crossing a golf course.
-Actually, if they did make it to the prom, it might turn into a tragedy because of the condition of their clothes. Just recently, a girl named Shafer Rupard was turned away from her prom in Cherryville, North Carolina, because she showed up in a red jeans outfit that matched something Justin Bieber had worn to an awards show. -The clothes were in great shape, unlike the dresses and suits that Luann and company are now wearing. And as it turned out, the school’s conduct code (they have one in a big book) said nothing about what kind of ‘formal wear’ had to worn to the prom.-So I’m thinking that if the foursome show up in tattered clothes, Ox will have to turn them away. Better that Luann, Gunther and Rosa should spend the evening cheering up Quill as he waits to see if he needs knee surgery….
Find it odd that the phone could be used to find out when the next bus was arriving but can’t be used to call for help as obviously the bus stop isn’t located in the same area as the traffic jam and can be accessed easily – the bus got there on time.
I think they’ve pretty much missed any opportunity they might have had to salvage those dinner reservations. Instead, it’s time for pre-Prom dinner at Weenie World, everyone!
The suspense is killing me: WILL Gunny remember he has a phone?!! WILL Luann get the chance to insult Tiff for no reason? Are ANY of these four wearing a pair of Gunny’ s homemade plaid underpants?!
Did I miss the part where Gunther and Rosa fell?Geez, her hair looks worse crossing a field than it did after sticking her head out the moon-roof of a moving limo.
I should have thought of this earlier, but I could have told “Argy” that there are Gators travelling to Southern Cal… provided they’re in the Rose Bowl, or one of the So Cal teams out there ever play them in any of the athletics or other scholastic/extracurricular endeavors…
WILL Luann say something innocent and get a verbal smack-down from Bernice? WILL Rosa continue to see Gunther out of pity and lack of other options? WILL Pitts ever admit that the field is full of booby-traps? WILL everyone stay together forevah because the older readers assume high school kids should behave exactly like elderly married couples?! WILL Delta be granted sainthood?!!

To recap:
If they can’t wait for the next bus (if there is one), they can call:
Lu’s parents,Mrs. Berger,Rosa’s parents,Brad or ToniTJa taxi.
OR
Bernice and Delta will cruise by and pick them up.
So many options!
ridenslide65 over 10 years ago
Don’t bother to call someone to pick you up. Rely on the bus. Yeah, that’s a plan. This is just a little ridiculous.
