Morning, VistaBill and etc.!And to think yesterday Gweedo was complaining that “the PC police” weren’t letting Tracy hit anyone!Tracy is lucky – the radio studios I worked in only had metal chairs!
Happy Sunday, you all!Remember when Gertie’s face scared the wits out of the Brow? She was pretty old at the time, now she sould almost be in her 200! Angus is right calling her a cailleach, an undying crone mother of monsters like the horrible Attitude..
Whoever was complaining that this strip was getting boring (though I don’t know how it could have been), there is lots of action today. It reminds me of a bar fight. Guns flying everywhere! At least Sam managed to retrieve his gun, but Tracy has other weapons at his disposal. Fists are always available.
What about Montana Joe? Gertie seems concerned for him, but isn’t he knocked out on the floor?
Ouch! that chair broken over Tracy’s back has to hurt. I know it’s close quarters, and there are civvies present, but if you’ve got the shot, Sam, take him down hard….
I haven’t commented much recently, but I have thoroughly enjoyed this story. Today’s action is the cherry on top. I am excited to see how all of this wraps up now that mikes and chairs and fists are flying. Under Curtis and Staton’s skillful direction, this strip just gets better and better!
Meanwhile, back at the front desk, Betty the receptionist takes calls from upset “Sounds of Plenty” listeners AND listeners who LIKE the new police action drama that has apparently replaced it…
I don’t know about this – there’s really no excuse for what happens between panels 2 and 3. In real life, Angus would have been shot (dead fish dead, too) had he been foolish enough to try to take out two cops with their weapons trained on him at that apparent distance.
And we STILL don’t know what the !@W#$ Angus was up to here; at this time he doesn’t yet know that the corrupt investigator he had in his pocket had ratted him out to Tracy.
If my previous theory is correct, tomorrow we will see Tracy and Sam rescued by Jar Jar Binks.
I hafta admit, I haven.t seen Tracy in a brawl in a long time. No yawning here! And as soon as I saw that chair, I immediately thought of WWF, but thunderbearr beat me to it. Enjoy it this morning, SDM/avenger/Matty; I know you are lurking close! PQ, you outdid yourself this morning! Happy M-Day to all of you. Us oldsters are pretty sensitive to it. We laid it all on the line for the unappreciative ones!
Live radio drama is not dead. Tabby is one tough customer. He’s way too big to race horses, but why he passed up a career in the NFL is a mystery. While I’ll grant that Tabby went from reading the newspaper to busting up the radio station in short order, this great story has had a lot of slow-simmering goodness. Angus knew that Rosato had lost control of the Nightmare-related cases. He knew from the newspaper that there was a breakthrough in the Rosato disappearance. Clark was the only one who could have spilled the beans on Rosato’s fate, unless you believe that gorgeous Venus ratted out the Munro brothers (and herself)..From Tabby’s first appearance at the theatre (taking in King Lear, starring Vitamin Flintheart: ham actor, extraordinaire, and amateur sleuth), we’ve been to Mysta’s apartment, Kolossal Studios, Warbucks’ jet, Wilcox Downs, the set of The Moon Maid film, and WDQP. I very much like the complex world of Tracy-town, as brought to us by the award-winning Team Tracy..I agree with Day-Day2001, today’s action is a blast. Tracy throws a mean left and Sam looks out for the innocent civilians as he retrieves his gun. Let’s hope Tracy is not concussed by the chair across his noggin’. He may need a moment to clear his head.
He should be fine, I’ll wager. In addition to the many layers of this story, we also got the J. Straightedge Trustworthy strip. I like it. Thanks to Gweedo, cpalmeresq, miqq1234, Morrow, mrichman, mzkdad and JPuzzleWhiz for the kind words. Much appreciated!
When you’re on vacation, there’s no place like home and I’m glad to be back. Thanks to Go Comics I didn’t miss a single day of Tracy. The comments have been right on as always, as well as the poetry.
Angus must have a skull like Curly from the Three Stooges, when Moe would bop him on the head with some tool and Curly would respond with “Ow, Ow, Ow… oh, look!” (cut to close-up of damaged tool.)The mic stand doesn’t appear to be bent here, though.
I enjoy action Sundays. Thanks to Team Tracy for giving us another good one. And a tip of the hat to Pequod77 for the entertaining rhyme. Some days I enjoy them as much as the strip!
I just realized what this scene reminds me of: the time Tracy and Sam rescued Ted Tellum in his home radio studio when Wormy was shooting the place to smithereens. Of course, no shots have been fired here yet, but Tracy and Sam busting in at the last minute, while on-the-air – it’s quite similar.

Tabby hoofed it on horseback, shady past had caught up to him
Sunny day, he rode away, once bright future now dark and grim.
Clark had done the unthinkable: he squealed like a pig and turned rat
Tabby loaded his pipe bowl full, his threats weren’t meant to cause that.
Danger now at every turn: Blackhearts and the Detectives
Every threat could not be killed, he’d have to be selective.
An indignity to be forced to flee, last ride on his trusty Sparkplug
No time to plan, now a hunted man, climbing out of the hole he’d dug.
Ahead a small radio station: WDQPA
truck parked there might prove to be his exit strategy.
Knocking out Joe and Carl, things were going his way
When in burst Sam and Tracy: a kybosh on his play.
The Banshee’s face could stop a clock, it made his stomach churn
She clobbered him with the mic stand, now it was Tracy’s turn.
Tabby a cat nearly declawed, neutered as it were
Were he genuine feline, he’d cough up a ball of fur.
