Not a smart saleslady, is she?

Then the crimson red Valentine lip says, “Leave me alone, bad saleslady!”

BTW, Mrslukeskywalker and Rina Farina said it nicely yesterday. This comic is meant to be an exaggeration and isn’t intended to be an exact portrayal of what most of us would do.

I sure hope not. I’d hate to think anyone was this stupid.

Thanks guys. I appreciate your appreciation of my comments. I do mean to be funny, but some people can’t see that.

I can’t wait to see what the lazy lump does for Cathy for Valentines’s Day. Besides the lipstick torpedo today, there’s nothing else to say here, except I hope it nailed her good!

MrsLS, I appreciate your comments too. It’s not Cathy herself who makes me sad, but the fact that Cathy reveals (yes, to an extreme, of course) actual female obsessions and insecurities and desires.

Were it not for that fact, I wouldn’t bother to read the strip; but I’ve read it regularly for many years because CathyG is indeed observant and articulate about the topic.

What makes me sad is that these preoccupations are usually just not healthy, even in moderation. And healthiness is what I find most appealing in the female sex! (I know, that may not the the majority male attitude, but many men share my distaste for all the un-naturalness and angst - and we cringe at what it does to Irving. I, for one, like him despite his flaws … I’m not one who wishes he’d turn into a Bruce Willis or Donald Sutherland misogynist type.)

I hear you Avon. I agree. It makes ME sad that men invented all the stuff that causes the female insecurity and “unnaturalness” you speak of. It appears to have started back in ancient Egypt.

Hey MrsLS and Avon, could you come over and explain the “exaggeration of real life” to the For Better or For Worse crowd please? There’s a couple of litteralists that are driving me NUTS!! Hello! Would you read it if it was a perfect wife with a perfect job with a perfect hubby and perfect kids and perfect life? NO! Boring! It’s funny cause we can relate! But Susan001 I know what you mean, try and tell that to some people and they will eat you alive (some not all, in all fairness). :p They’re not fun like you guys. ;) Your comments make me laugh!

I know, Kaytebb, they are a brutal lot over at FBOFW. For a while, I avoided them, but now it’s almost a game to see if I can slide through there without getting in the middle of a fight. I’ve said before that if they want a perfect family, go read Family Circus, and even then, I’m sure some of those commenters would find something to criticize.

And, LOL about the sales ladies. I think they’re hilarious how they are so ridiculous with such straight faces, and almost wish they had names.

Susan001, what happened to your avatar? You had one at some point, I thought.

As far as I can see, there is only one saleslady, who is kept in a back room until she is needed. She appears in different clothes, hair colour/style, etc. When necessary, she can be split in two like an amoeba, to make: two salesladies! Afterwards they are joined together and stored away until next time.

I like picking on Elly and Connie. They deserve it. I also give Elly some credit when she deserves it, but nobody ever sees THAT! Besides, it’s a different kind of comic than Cathy, and it really does beg for it, Kaytebb. No matter what I say over there they descend on me like rabid weasels. Good thing I tend not to care. : )

Re: the sales lady. That’s why I call her Saleswoman/Waitress. Poor thing works day and night.

BFF, you’re back! You and I agree on the same points on all the comics we both read. Of course I defended you. You and I are both magnets. All the people who just don’t get the whole premise of a comic strip like to call us out by name and say whatever they feel like saying, but we can’t poke fun at a comic or defend Calvin. I like how you nailed LuvH8 the other day. “I approve of the comments, I disapprove of the comments. Attention! Do this and don’t do what I don’t like”. Who cares? Get a life. And a personality. She likes it bland and polite, but has a reaper as an icon, and told us we’d all better beware, because she’ll be watching us! Wooooooooo!

Susan, you know how to right click and copy a picture right? All you have to do is go to your account page, click the home tab, and on the right where it says upload avatar, which is really an icon, an avatar is an image that resembles you, you hit browse and go to the place on your computer where you saved the picture to, click on the picture name, it’ll appear in the box, and hit upload. You don’t need any software. if you can see the comics, you have what it takes.

I really appreciated the sympathy you expressed toward me when my Happy passed away 5 weeks ago. It made me smile through my tears.

He’ll also zoom in on the dopey pose – well maybe not, it’s Irving after all – he won’t even notice. Isn’t this also their anniversary right about now?
