Dictionary… or Wiktionary, Luann. You need one of those.

Luann is supposed to be in college and she doesn’t recognize the word “prudence”?

Not gonna do it – Wouldn’t be Prudence!

Luann was always a little dim witted.

“Separate rooms” — that comment shows Bernice thinks like a 50-year-old parent; “separate rooms” never stopped any two people who actually want to!

Btw: The cards can mean anything Dez would like them to mean; she made them herself. Tee-hee!

And she is in college?

Goodness, Luann! Are you serious?![Oops. I sort of implied my own answer there….]

“The Cards Don’t Say YES or NO.”
What a Bunch of New Age Hippie Bull Crap!
Lu, You could have Flipped a Coin and had a More CONCLUSIVE Result.
….,And Used That Coin later to CALL Your Parents and Have Them Come pick You Up when Pretty-Boy STRANDS You In New York….,

words like prudence, who needs ’em?

Didn’t she already more or less announce this —to her parents, who didn’t want to hear about it?

I’m not at all sure about that. This is a “family strip.” It’s up to the reader to determine because actual lovemaking (outside kissing) would not be possible. For me, I think so, just as for Gunther and Rosa.

How many times does 19 go into 18? I’d say 3 times a night.

Dez’s face doesn’t “deform”; it’s an artistic way of indicating that she’s looking down at the cards.

Prudence should be a decisive factor in all our choices. Dez isn’t really revealing anything new.

Isn’t it time to let Luann grow up a bit. All of her friends are being drawn in a more adult style, why not Luann?
harkherp over 9 years ago
Gee… Bernice a little jealous would you say of Quill????
harkherp over 9 years ago
No wonder Luann’s in cumunity college rather than university. Wonder what her English SAT score was? Forget about math! Like a 750 combined?

the big “IF” is now going to need two rooms!

Sounds like Luann’s fitting the role of “dumb blonde” perfectly.

Want to see: Gunther’s phone rings and Rosa says. “We’re going to have a baby.”

Bernice needs to get a man. I guess the wheelchair guy scarred her for life.

I had a secretary once named Prudence. We called her “Pru.” She was proud that her ancestors were from Sicily. She attributed her temper to this. Once she told my boss that I’d done something that I hadn’t. My boss really gave me down the country for this.

“we go back to pretending Luann and Quill don’t have sex and must sleep in separate rooms.”
"We"don’t. Her friend does.

Sometimes I find it amazing how so many folks here seem to only think of sex here and seem to simply be waiting with baited breath to hear or read some character or other here copulated… or are already presuming most every character in the comic is doing so virtually every moment. Not every 18 year old freshman is so obsessed with sex that it is the only thing thought about. Don’t get me wrong here, I enjoy a roll in the hay as much as anyone… I am just saying that to speculate on this comic as being so utterly sex focused is a bit ludicrous IMHO. Greg is focusing on the full spectrum of his characters, not trying to write a tawdry dime-store romance novella.
