I remember when I was a kid in the summertime growing up in Louisiana. When the temperature was in the 90s, I could walk barefoot on the hot road asphalt. If I tried to do that now, I’m sure that my feet would be severely burned.
It’s tough when you realize that you been wearing shoes most of the time for so long, that your feet are tender. When I was a kid, I could walk across the hot asphalt street barefoot in 100 degree weather. Wouldn’t try that now, at least not without a month’s conditioning.
in Texas he would have been crying and picking the “goat head” stickers out of his feet…….if you know what they are then you know the pleasure (aka) lots of pain.
Remember, Jimmy’s from Alabama and he still has a home in Mississippi. If you look closely, you’ll see that the tree in the background has little balls hanging from it, so it is most likely a sweet gum tree. Sweet gum balls are like Legos to the power of ten.
When I was a kid, I thought I had super powers because I could run barefoot through an empty lot full of broken glass and bottle caps and never cut my feet. Took me years to realize all that debris had been hammered into the ground by a zillion other feet running over it.

I still go barefoot outdoors, and I’m almost 73. Just have to watch where the dog’s been. I also go barefoot indoors but that’s a lot easier.

It’s a good thing that pirate dog Louie was not out in that field.

Looks more like he’s tip-toeing through the tulips.
In Texas, he’d be doing the “Fire Ant shuffle”.

I don’t even go barefoot in the house. I have hard soled flip-flops by my bed at night for the few steps to the bathroom.

Here in Texas, I’m more afraid of the fire ants than anything else. And is it just me or has Janis turned into a real beotch lately?

Geezum crow… If I was laying on a blanket outside in the springtime beside a lady like that, I wouldn’t be running through the warm grass barefooted.
