Arlo: Remember years ago, when we had a clunky Polaroid camera?
Arlo: Film was so expensive and wasteful! And only a few shots to a pack!
Arlo: And the results were usually disappointing!
Arlo: Times have really changed, huh?
Janis: Forget it!

I wonder what proportion of couples use the more private digital technology for … you know … nudge, nudge … wink, wink … say no more.
Used to be we could upvote comments and take a poll.

Janis knows…it’s easier to hide Polaroids than digital pics.

And once Polaroids are destroyed, they’re gone..Those days copiers/scanners weren’t available around the home either.

did this in the 70s and again in the 80s…wish i still had those pics but it’s always the wife that freaks out and does them in when you’re not looking. too bad.

Probably wise, considering how many phone plans include automatically backing up all contents to the cloud site. Not to mention apps that, if you forget to turn them off, automatically post your photos to Facebook. Get’s you lots and lots of followers, though. .And this whole group here would be first to “Like” them. .The mind boggles at what must have been happening off-camera in the second panel to induce Arlo to fire away like that.

But the SX-70 camera was one of the most amazing examples of product design ever. The world is not a better place for its passing.

I think the point Arlo is trying to make is that she should ditch the “old technology” (book) for modern technology (ereader).

The tongue hanging out is particularly telling.

I still have my polaroid, I suppose I should dust it off. The problem with those is that kids may accidentally find them. I agree that a digital camera is best without the wifi. My hubby once lost a smartphone with some compromising videos and things on it.

The only one who would pay for mine would be the Smithsonian Inst. And Ripley’s believe it or not.

I did some work in one of those “200K rolls of film a night” shops. One of the walls inside the machine was lined with pictures that, um, violated somebody’s terms of service.
