Janis: Look at my new PHOne! Arlo: It's big! Janis: Yes! It's easier to see and use! Arlo: You had a tablet! You didn't like it! Janis: You couldn't make calls on it! Arlo: Now, they have something in between? Janis: Yes! Arlo: Truly, the folks at 'Apple' are geniuses!

They certainly are geniuses if they can get people to spend $600 to replace a perfectly good phone.

I have had my Android phone for nearly 2 years now, & its screen is still slightly larger. They finally figured out that bigger IS better.

Android phones are better – and you can choose not to pay the evil empire!

We’ve been watching old movies making fun of the brick phones they used in the eighties….People in the future will make fun of the time when we had ridiculously tiny phones….

My wife has had a Samsung like that for a year and a half. In other words, Apple is copying Samsung.

My Samsung Galaxy Mega made and still would make any other mobile phones look tiny, but when I dropped it I settled for one of the smaller ones. boohoo

I cannot use my wife’s smart phone! Every time I even try to answer it, I mess it up. All I need is my flip phone for calls. It does get text messages, but I never found out how get them (don’t want to either).<><me

I need and have a phone that fits in that little watch pocket on a pair of jeans, otherwise keys and coins will scratch it up.

Genius = they tell us what we want, we buy into it.

Apple was late to that game.

My cell phone is so old it still has a rotary dial. It makes and receives calls, and frankly, that’s all I need. And, as Doc Toon said, it makes a good pocket watch.

I still mourn the loss of analog service. The phone I had installed in the car always worked perfectly and had far better range and fidelity than the inadequate digital replacement.
Still, it did benefit the cellular providers – they could now get more channels into the same spectrum.
It just didn’t benefit the subscriber…

An apple product every time you turn aroundKeeps the competitors at bay
I know it doesn’t rhyme but I never claimed I was good at poetry.

Why are the letters in Janis’ first panel in caps except for the “ne” letters? Just askin’…

I much prefer a smaller phone (I have an i-Phone 4) because it will fit into my shirt pocket. The bigger phones seem TOO big for me, and seem more designed for women who can toss them into their purse, or guys who want to wear some sort of contraption on the belt to hold a phone (I really do not want that).

My Verion Ultra is ‘big’ and takes great pic’s and is still a phone when you need to call or text.

I got the iPhone 6+ for its superior camera. I use it a lot for photography using inexpensive apps that produce results far superior to Apple’s default camera app.

My husband bought a top of the line Samsung two years ago and that thing was clearly designed by a committee. It’s done things like suddenly lighting up the room in the middle of the night despite being on sleep setting. Repeatedly. It’s not intuitive. Hold it wrong and you’ve wrecked what you were looking at. He thinks it’s so much better than an iPhone while I’m so glad I have an iPhone because it’s so much better. So I guess we’re a split-ticket household.

My Nokia Windows phone goes more than two days without charging. And does everything I wish.

Dumbest thing I ever saw – BIL’s sister’s cell phone rings. She opens her huge fake designer purse and takes out a huge Ipad – full size – and answers the phone.
Husband had a Samsung small table, then phone, then large tablet he swears he will never buy Samsung again as nothing is supported. He cannot get the “specific to the device” sticks to write on the devices as each device has a different one and they are discontinued. There is no support for the last device when the new one comes out. He just gave up trying to deal with tablets and bought a laptop.

Apple may indeed be evil, in some ways (though as pointed out above, so are Google, Facebook, and probably the most evil of all— Amazon). But they are also “smart”, I guess. Currently— or for most of the past several years— Apple has had enough spare cash sitting in their corporate account to buy Walmart, if they felt like it— and still have some left over. The richest publicly-owned company in the world.
