The scouts are there to see Mason but will end up impressed with True.

The dozen scouts are, most likely, the reason why Gil showed up to this game. It’s a chance for Gil to speak about his state championships to others, and possibly get picked up by a college team.

This one has it all…Kabuki theater in P1, a night game in P2, back to a day game in P3…a field day for MUT.

When I first read P1 I thought the scouts were there to watch Milford and Gil was hoping his team would disappoint the scouts, which seemed odd, even for Gil. And speaking of odd, check out today’s Mopped Up Thorp.

Yes Gil, let’s disappoint the scouts. What coach wants his players to make it in the bigs? Oh, by the way, the amateur draft doesn’t let the scouts steal high-schoolers. Sure wouldn’t want to lose a juggler or a ball swatter to Cleveland.
