I guess Izzy really missed Tommy. My deepest condolences to you and the family Frank. Losing a furry relative twists the heart until it kinks.Curl up with each other and with your pups.
Cartooning isn’t always about funny. The best ones are about life.
I empathise – 8 months ago, we lost the little calico stray we had adopted, killed by dogs. Two months later, her even more loving white brother just disappeared through a second floor window left open by chance.
Sorry for your loss, at least they have each other for company on the other side.Life can be cruel and very unfair, where i live, I consider it a great day when the line to kick me when I’m down only stretches halfway around the block.Take your kicks, get back up and act like nothing bothers you.It works for me… Most of the time.
I am touched by your honesty and empathize with your pain. There is no need to apologize for being human Frank. Take care and remember the love your pets shared with you….cats (and dogs) are amazing in their own little ways of showing love.
Losing family members, your little forever babies, is such an overwhelming sorrow. I hope your heart reaches out to another baby to give your love to. The greatest gift we give our “kids” is to pass that love to another. So very sad for you…
So very sorry for your loss. Nothing like the heartache that follows the loss of such a loving companion. This quote helped me through the loss of my beloved Jack Russell: Grief never ends..but it changes. It’s a passage not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith…it’s the price of love. Author Unknown. May your memories comfort you. Izzy and Tommy are keeping company together.
People such as you, ones that love and care and cherish the time we have with our furry four footed kids should never apologize for those feelings. We need more people like you in this world. It would be a lot better place. As hard as it is, just don’t forget you’re not alone. There are those of us that hurt and shed tears when we hear about your loss. Do not let the pain close your heart to the future joy, love and companionship of more furry kids in your life. Take your time to greive and always remember them. You are a better person for it.
A big part of what makes your work so wonderful to me is that you share so much of your life with us. I’m so sorry about the loss of your kitties. I know they had very happy lives with your family and were loved very much.
I totally agree with SticktheWicket. As you grieve, know that there are a LOT of us out here who are thinking good thoughts about you, your family, Tommy and Izzy. On behalf of the Ten Cats family, we are so sorry for your loss.
My heartfelt condolences on your double loss. Those cats were lucky to have a family like yours to love them. Thank you for sharing; as others have said, write about your pets, we’ll listen. I hope, when you’re ready, that there will new pets to read about.
To the Page Family:I fully understand the need to share this burden. Anguish shared is divided among those who are willing to accept a portion of it. May your load be a little lighter today, from the many faceless friends you have earned through what you share with us daily. My sincerest condolences.
Frank —They are NOT lost, they are just waiting for youon the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. They’ll be there for you.Peace.-Just another member of the TC family
Frank – I feel your pain and I’m so sorry. Hang onto the memories, the photos, donate in their names to help other felines, and when you’re ready, adopt again. That little critter will be so lucky to have you.
Where to begin… first let me dry my eyes. I’m normally on A-max, and have been reading ten cats for about a year now, this will be the first ever comment on G.C….. Those little furry bundles of joy, seem to leave us all to soon. I feel your loss, as my wife and I have a few of our “kids” waiting for us over the rainbow bridge…It is never easy to lose a beloved pet. hang on to those memories and cherish them……Take Care….
Oh, Frank – so sorry! 8-23-13 we lost our furbaby and we still mourn. If a burden shared is truly lightened, then all your friends here may help you and your family carry through.
Frank, so sorry to read of the loss of your 2 “kiddies”. I lost my soul-mate kitty over 4 years ago, and understand, as my heart is still weeping, and it will be weeping for your 2 also. Tell us about them in your strip. We from TC will understand your pain, and healing by doing this for you,,, and for us..condolences from the great lake state..
Sorry to hear about Izzy. They were probably more bonded to each other than you knew.Just like people who have been married often pass within a few weeks.Yes, you do need to do this, and all your readers would agree. Almost everyone has lost at least one very dear animal companion, and you are probably helping most of us acknowledge our past losses.I
So sorry about the loss of your cats. Last October we lost our 18 year old female cat. She developed oral cancer and she couldn’t eat or drink. She was a stray…we had her for 16 1/2 years. We were devastated. Around a month later my sister sent us some pictures of a cat at a shelter run by her friend. He was sweet, and had been taken out when they had adoptions at local pet shops, but no one wanted him. We did; we took him and he’s become our little darling. So hard to lose a beloved pet…once again I am so sorry.
Its so hard to loose a loved one. In my lifetime I’ve lost so many , it never gets better but we move ahead anyway. Each is remembered for their special ways of loving you.My heart goes out to you and your family
I grieve with thee. They are our fur babies, and they are family. I just lost my sweet Taffy last week and I still miss my kitties from thirty years ago. Take your time.
I am so sorry that your fur friends had to leave you behind. A new fur friend may come to you when you least expect it. These 2 will always live in your heart. HUG!
Brings to mind a favorite quote: “Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket—safe, dark, motionless, airless— it will change. It will not be broken : it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.” — C.S. Lewis
Thanks for being vulnerable with us, your audience.
My heart hurts for you Frank. They will always be in your heart. I can still weep for my fuzzies years later. I’d also like to sock people who say “it was JUST a cat/dog/rabbit/mouse.” Those people have no soul. I am so sorry. ._.
So sorry, Frank….. We invite these wonderful creatures into our lives & they stay for such a short time….. But, the alternative is not to share our lives with them – and that is not acceptable. Thank you for sharing your journey with us…
