Maybe a little TOO much honesty with the nutty Mr. Bribery, Diet! (Whether you are being truthful or not!)

Smith may find out that technology is harder to destroy than he thinks.

I’m thinking that someone got a copy of the plans for a Space Coupe….wouldn’t surprise me if Bribery has them.

A few days ago we viewed some old strips that showed Mr. Bribery having the 2 unnamed twins study the blueprints of the Space Coupe. What did he do with those blueprints? He must still have them somewhere. Besides that I’ve said before that there must be plans out there somewhere along with engineers that worked with them on earth or at Diet Smith’s moon base. He couldn’t erase what’s inside people’s heads.

Diet is in for some rough treatment. Bribery is not the type who takes no for an answer.

As I understand it, we saw Joie Pcket all the time whilst his twin Bribery remained hidden hell knows where. Still, a bit hard to swallow, but so be it. Further discussion is futile, I think.But I hope there are no more repechases of dead characters.

Really, he destroyed every last piece – even hard copies – blueprints,paper,etc?

No industrialist destroys everything, those blueprints are out there and probably the old coupe with police markings is hidden away…

I’d almost swear that Mr. Bigg/Bribery has had a rather large whiff of The Joker’s gas.

Even the Patent office is likely to have copies of the Blueprints, to affix Diet’s claims. And I can’t imagine the government didn’t get ahold of it.

And even if the Space Coupes have been destroyed, I’m sure the tech has helped Smith Industries and been used in OTHER applications. Reverse Engineering should be possible too!

And we still have not dealt with the apparent moon people who were shown viewing Mysta’s tombstone how many months ago. Will they eventually tie into this story line?

As someone who hadn’t heard of Mr. Bribery before: this was the PERFECT choice for the conclusion to a build-up to a mysterious criminal mastermind. He’s horrifyingly twistedly creepy in a way I never expected.

Unless Diet has kept the particulars of his EM craft from others there must be knock offs out there.-——————————————————-And they are being built by kids in a factory somewhere in China.

Yesterday someone suggested that Mr. Bribery was based on FDR.

Thinking the next step is to have Diet Smith’s remote control bring back the Space Coupe which was jettisoned into space, during its’ last appearance (we never saw the device being destroyed, did we?).

I think that the reason that Bribery let Notta live is now clear. She’s a fully rated Space Coupe engineer.

having never read a single story involving mr bribery, I don’t really see the big deal behind this revelation (yup, like Britney Spears.. I did it again lol)

apparently the man has a slinky for a neck..either that or he is part owl and able to turn his head completely around in angles physically impossible for human beings

visually, he isn’t very intimidating at all and I am monstrously underwhelmed by the whole thing so far

Mr. Bribery and the Space Coupe together in a new Dick Tracy strip. Wonderful! Diet Smith: Bullwinkle is calling and he wants his antlers back. He can see them there, right above your eyes.

Mr. Bribery actually makes a good point here in panel 1. Nowadays, several private companies are developing spacecraft; meanwhile, Smith has deliberately taken himself out of the space industry. A good point brought up in this thread today: there are engineers out there who have seen the blueprints, and although they likely signed nondisclosure statements, are still subsceptible to pressure or um, bribery :)

I don’t think Mr. Bribery will get any coupe-operation from Diet Smith.

It looks like ol’ Bribes has been using his cell phone too much. Time for a chiropractor to work on that neck.

As Jerryjohn52 pointed out, Bribery had a set of blueprints/schematics for the Space Coupe. The twins said it would be difficult to build a Space Coupe from those alone, but that doesn’t mean Bribery hasn’t tried – but he apparently hasn’t succeeded. So he now wants Smith to troubleshoot his unsuccessful version. Will he have someone else kidnapped to use for leverage against Smith?

Sorry the picture’s so large. Didn’t realize the size of it. To be honest, I’d try to re-size it, but getting it to appear at all qualifies as a technical miracle, and one miracle per day is my limit. Phew. I need to lay down…

This is an issue which occasionally plagues modern Shonen manga and anime, there are often so many “moving pieces” to keep track of that it can slow the pace of the core action to a crawl.

Can’t accuse Mike & Joe of being less than ambitious in scope, though. ;)

Someone a day or so ago also noted a character who might partially have been inspired by Mr. Bribery, one who – Fittingly enough – Met a rather Rosy fate …

of course, now a return of the original space coupe by Sail and Ghote who figured out how to turn it around and have been in hiding with it would be timely…..

I think it’s too late for Diet Smith to have obliterated “moon technology” in general and the space coupe in particular. Somewhere, somehow, the plans are around for someone with plenty of dough and a few good captive scientists to recreate what he wants.!
