Ros is playing by rules (as the new ones appear), though….

The new rule is:“Rose, bring back Hobbes immediately and leave the house! You will be soaked, you never forget it, if you don’t do it!!”

Probably the longest Rosalyn’s ever gone in a babysitting stint with Calvin, with a smile on her face.

I’ll bet Calvin didn’t think Rosalyn would learn Calvinball so quickly.

How nice to see Calvin and Rosalyn having fun together.

Is it me, or is she REALLY starting to get into this game?

Seeing Ros play Calvinball so effectively reminds me of a game my kids (3 of them) invented to play with each other. They played it on a large dry-erase board drawing a 2-dimensional landscape. They had to develop a base of operations each and attack each others’ bases. They could use whatever popular characters they wanted from superheroes to anime to other literary, television, and movie characters they would all know. They could also use whatever known real or fictional materials from their media ethos as well in the construction of their bases and weaponry. They would each have a turn each round. What characters they could use, how they developed their bases, what materials they used, what constituted a ‘turn’, everything was up for grabs. The ‘win’ wasn’t in strategy as much as it was in developing negotiating skills. The fun was more in seeing the creativity each had than it was actually destroying each others’ bases and they wanted to get to the fun part, so they vied to negotiate quickly so the game would progress.

Guess who isn’t going to freak out when he’s left with her in the future … and guess who’s always going to be available for the gig ..

Hobbes always did have a way of turning enemy when a pretty girl was involved.

What a great game! It’s like the World Series of Calvinball.

Catching a water balloon without busting it is impressive, but Snoopy used to fetch soap bubbles without busting them!

I am enjoying this!

Hobbes has fallen in love!

Why is Calvin so good at catching water balloons and so bad at catching footballs?

If that water balloon hits its intended mark, I see a couple cases of cat scratch fever in the future.
