I can’t imagine that tRump actually wants to be bothered with being POTUS. Instead, tRump is very much like the bridezilla who is totally into being a bride but beyond that has no interest in being a wife. That being said, I am certainly in no rush to Dump the Trump. tRump is the perfect burlesque of the Republican’t Party, and is thus, for the time being at least, performing a truly valuable public service. But for true vision and authenticity, for someone who knows how to run a government and not just shoot off his mouth and bankrupt businesses, FEEL THE BERN!
Obama has received plenty of criticism from liberals. Just because some righties have not noticed it, doesn’t make it any less true. Most recently, the Keystone pipeline comes to mind, and there are other instances. He doesn’t get a 100% rating from liberals, to be sure. And, at this point, Obama can’t run for prez again, so GT might as well move on, as he has. Also, the GOP is more entertaining at the moment, hence the attention.
I am glad to see GT going back to Trump in today’s strip. People seem to be getting Trump fatigue, just a few cracks in the armor is beginning to show.
Even on this thread, many liberals have criticized the prez for drones. Others see it as a better alternative to boots on the ground, which would endanger more of our own soldiers. As it is, the US military personnel are stretched thin terms of folks who are willing to sign up. If we are to have an effective military, we need to change with the times.
Funny how the Republicans always talk about the Democrats electing someone without experience. Now, the three people at the top of the Repub polls have a combined total of ZERO government experience. Makes perfect sense, as the R’s don’t believe in government or governance.
The latest stories coming out of England concerning the PM this week are really bizarre. I wonder how the English public is taking it? I heard that a super rich guy over there got mad as he didn’t think he was getting his money’s worth over a contribution. Therefore, he let out some wild stories about David Cameron in his college days. Something about Cameron putting his penis into the mouth of a dead pig? Did anyone need to know that? I guess not but that is what things have come to in the world of political revenge it seems. Also, I don’t know if Cameron tries to come across has holier than thou, but if so, it may serve him right to be outed a bit. We have plenty of hypocrites on this side of the pond as well.
As for all the weak-minded posters deriding the ‘old socialist’: go ahead and check out Bernie’s platform, you might be surprised to find yourself agreeing with many, if not most of his points.
I won’t hold my breath, though. Fixating on dated labels is the hallmark of low-information voters who prefer sound bites to sound policy.
Progressives are far more capable of doing math than conservatives. Conservatives want to spend tons of $ on weapons we can’t afford or need. Conservatives also want to give big tax breaks to the 1%. Liberals want a fair tax system so that we wouldn’t have to worry about budget shortfalls. Conservatives want socialism for the rich. Socialism is a bad word to them only when it applies to those who are not wealthy.
Before Hillary Clinton decided to run, I predicted that there would be a fake outrage scandal, a big nothing burger, in which the GOP would attempt to bloody her up as much as possible. This is because they don’t have any legit claims of wrong doing. Therefore, they make up a bunch of crap and the media buys into since it will sell. We have seen this same pattern for years. Ask Bill Clinton about the $70 million that was spent on him over the Whitewater scandal which turned up absolutely nothing. We did find out that he had a little hanky panky with an intern which he didn’t want to talk about. Big whoop. I am much more concerned about things that actually apply to my own life than anyone’s sexual peccadilloes. The only difference here is that Hillary is now in a primary, therefore, there are a few detractors aside from just the GOP. If the scandal for Bill Clinton had happened during a primary, he would have also had those who would criticize him besides the GOP.
So, a cartoonist portrays the black candidate as unable to even find D.C. on a map, despite the fact he’s a highly respected brain surgeon, and everyone acts like it’s not racist. You know if it was a conservative cartoonist, you’d be demanding his head.

No because liberals don’t make fun of the Great Obama.

Maybe because Mr. Obama was legitimately elected, and didn’t get us into wars of choice, it’s harder to come up with an icon for him.

Stephen Colbert recently talked about the Republican Debate Drinking Game. “The Republicans debate, I drink.”
