Does Bernice protest too much?1) 26 votes – Yes. She’s feeling guilty over breaking the rules herself.2) 24 votes – Yes. She’s afraid of admitting having feelings for boys.3) 12 votes – Other4) 8 votes – Yes. She hasn’t actually done anything to feel guilty over. Yet.Other: Methinks the lady doth protest too much; Yes! Bernice is too self righteous; Is it protesting if you’re having a severe mental breakdown?; She’s not protesting. She’s protecting her privacy; Yes. ALL of the above!; Protest?!?She’s not even started protesting, she’s wambling!; Guilty seems like too stong of a word, she’s just young and confused; Bernice sucks; No. That’s just how she is, otherwise she wouldn’t be an interesting character; this question doesnt really make sense to me; Yes, she does. She is extremely bossy and negative and lets everyone know it.
My, how time flies sometimes! Seems like just yesterday that work was underway to clean up the old warehouse, and now the whole production is about to start. So apparently the concern about Quill and Pru came to nothing?
Lets hope this show is a break you leg success. I still wonder about the last time though that Pru was in the house and Luann heard her apparently talking to Quinn behind the closed door, I am sure on the phone. Apparently no issues have come up since in the Luannverse world, so hopefully everything is okay.
Hey, this is a quantum leap forward in time, or at least in getting the warehouse converted! Everything seems to be in place but the players and the customers. I suppose we have all week to deal with that. Allons-y!
I think the point here is that they’re expecting Grey to tell them what to do, and he’s telling them, “You’re in your own now.”Grand opening in twenty? Minutes, days, hours?Anyway, Lu’s parents didn’t have a role, and, considering the way they’re dressed, they may be the talent…
6 The most surprising (to me, anyhow) of the “Fuse” arcs thus far:1. I am not surprised at the cast of volunteer workers, that seems about right.2. I am presuming that all of them must be finished with their final exams now…. but wonder where Tiffany, Gunther, and Bernice are? 3. The “Enjoy” comment by Mr. Grey is the surprise. It “reads” to me that he is suggesting that Frank & Nancy “stay-out-of-it”…. but that may be my read due to all the “mafia” talk about Mr. Grey earlier. 4. If Mr. Grey simply turns out to be an EXTREMELY nice guy who is just a “busy bee” working and volunteering for Frank and Nancy…. that will be a let down to me. There HAS to be something else going on.5. I find Nancy’s dress for this event rather interesting. It caused me to reminisce about “Jello 123” that I remember fondly from the late 60s…. fondly because it was so odd and strange. Here is a picture if you are unfamiliar with “Jello 123” [ http://www.thatskinnychickcanbake.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/One-Two-Three-Jello-7.jpg ]
Looks like Frank and Nancy are really as clueless as they’ve appeared in the past. Mr. Gray has set up and taken over their brainchild right under their noses, and they’ve had no part of it. They show up at the last minute (twenty minutes?) in their Sunday Best and ask what to do.
What is the play about?.The First Noel, with a blushing Tiff as Mary?.Santa and his Helpers, with Knute as an elf?.Xmas Downunder in Oz, with Quill at a nude beach?.Nightmare of Christmas, with Crystal as a specter?,Recycling Christmas by Delta?.The Three Wise Men, with Zebo, Emo, and Jock?.Dreams of Christmas in Peru, with Gunther?.Puddle’s Christmas Trip, by Greg?.Silent Night — starring Piro?
Interesting…. as just mentioned…. if Quill is “Tech” and Pru is “Backstage” then who are the actors? I cannot imagine a lot of Quill’s Moony classmates volunteering for this (because of University performances and their own classwork at this time of year)Luann is not acting because she is working with the food service. None of the rest of the regular gang seems to be afoot. Hmm. I sure do not know what is happening. Maybe Pru and/or Grey knows a bunch of lounge lizards in Vegas who didn’t mind taking a day or two away from Vegas to help out? BUT…. what if there is something secret between Mr. Grey and Pru?!?!?!?!?! Maybe they have HISTORY together?!?!?!?! Maybe Mr. Grey IS himself an ex-lounge singer along the lines of Frank Sinatra… and Mr. Grey is going to be the star performer?!?!?!?!?!
1) I thought duty call was when everyone had to go to the bathroom.2) TJ, Ox, and Lu are all in uniforms so must be playing the part of the EMTs servicing Kafe Kablooie, while Qu is playing the part of the errant electrician. What an interesting holiday play this will be!
In conventional storytelling, this setup would be full of possibilities for comic disaster, as a bunch of young amateurs take on more than they can handle.TJ can cook interesting dishes, but his experience with commercial food service consists of upselling at Weenie World and serving weird food from a food truck with few customers. I don’t recall that Ox has any experience serving food customers, let alone in a dinner theater-type setting. Luann selling and/or taking tickets at the door? Yeah, she’s always on top of things. And the show itself — well, who knows what an intern would write and produce. Add the owners who have no idea what to do, and you’ve got a potent mix.But I’m sure that with Mr. Gray and the Evanses in charge, everything will be just fine.
What happens the next day when the whole gang will have to return to their lives? Who’s actually going to be staffing this boondoggle day in and day out?
Bulletin: The local Hooters has closed for the night so the girls can kick off the grand opening. By the way, I love Pru’s mix-matched, Bohemian style wardrobe. She is a real theater nerd.

So Mr. Grey has completed his takeover of the operation. No way he’s going to ask for anything in return.

Awfully colorful clothing on Pru to be working backstage. The “uniform” of stage techs is low-visibility black.
