Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
After reading this comic strip for some time, Iâm getting the slight impression that its quality might be a bit substandard. Just a vague feeling, of course.
I wonder where the line starts to get a job like Tracyâs.
It doesnât look all that hard, all you do is stand around and ask silly questions, and occasionally run in terror and try to hide from the bad guys who are trying to kill you (but never seem able to because theyâre dumber than posts and couldnât hit the broadside of a barn even when standing next to it).
You donât even have to do any actual detective work. Man, what a deal. The only problem is that the line for the job must stretch for miles, so the odds of getting it donât look particularly good.
Today Tracy is holding his 9-key phone much like a human being holds a phone, though he canât really pass for human. His forefinger is much longer than his middle finger.
Sue, on the other hand, is doing something really odd with her phone. There must be superglue involved but itâs hard to figure how it is kept from falling even with superglue. I guess itâs glued both to her ear and to one fingertip.
She isnât really confident in her anti-gravity bracelet. Notice how she spreads her fingers to catch it just in case the anti-gravity fails.
Maybe itâs an anti-gravity phone too? No, she canât be holding it down in that position without superglue any more than she could be holding it up.
In the future, womensâ clothing will be bizarre and ugly. Well, we knew that, from television & moviesâŚ.
Saturday morning is here at last
Time for me to break my fast
Oh, how I wish I had stayed in bed
And not read this strip instead
But I did and that is done
My psyche scarred by the atrocious pun
Numbers were her reason for being
The real world she was not seeing
To her Trey-Dâs death was a shock
While Tracy dispensed his usual schlock
But tomorrow brings us the color strip
Any bets it wonât be a pip?
We will see Sue D with her facial hue
And a Crimestoppers which we shall rue
So come back again to see the wreck
Of a once fine comic turned to dreck.
I would have loved seeing a fourth panel showing Macy falling backwards saying, âHAR-HAR-HAR!â And the lovely Ms. Doku thinking, âAre you sure âHeadâ isnât your middle name, Doofus?â
You know, if you were going to create a comic strip that was entirely about people talking on cell phones, it would still have fewer phone conversations than this one.

Trying out another Police sign again, I see. Maybe they get a free trial deal.
Think Iâll try talking to people in BOLD FACE.

Panel 1: Nice outfit. Is she a flying saucer stewardess?

No need to fill us squares in. There hasnât been enough action to confuse anyone, whether they are hip or not.

The Police Station has morphed into the 3 Strikes game from âThe Price is Rightâ.

Um, it looks like Tracy has grown his hair long and his eyebrows have thickened, and whatâs with his flat nose? Yikes!

He just killed three panels to get in his âfill in the squaresâ pun. What a waste of space.

Tracy has a serious case of Brezhnev-brow going here. Unfortunately, itâs not enough to take my mind off the writingâŚor lack thereof.

As Sue mourns the death of her employer, Tracy makes puns about her unusual name.
