Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
My mom did that to me when I was 2, coincidentally at my grandparentsâ house (her parents). Coughed for almost an hour. Never touched another one again.
Remember cigarette machines? This one time at Church Camp in North Carolina(1971 I think), the cigarette machines sold premium brand cigarettes from 25 cents.
Considering how long those smokes might have lain on a shelf, the staleness alone would sicken even an experienced smoker. And why are readers so interested in copyright dates? All of these are repeats. Whatâs it matter when they appeared before? They are just a very enjoyable alternative to what passes for news and life in the 21st.
If you remember the old Winston jingle (Winston Tastes Good Like a Cigarette Should)., I had changed the words as a 7 year old to: âWinston tastes bad like the one I just had. No filter, no taste, just a (clap cap) 30 cent waste!â The price tells you about what year this was. LOL
This strip remin me of a Donald Duck cartoon called âDonaldâs Happy Birthday.âIn it, the nephews decide to buy âUnca Donaldâ cigars for his birthday (This was the 1950âs, when people didnât know better). Donald, somehow forgetting itâs his birthday, sees the nephews buying cigarettes and assumes itâs for themselves. Before realizing itâs a birthday present, Doald manages to have the nephews smoke the whole box, sending the, out cold on the floor. Ironically, Walt Disney smoked heavily, but he painted it out as a bad habit.
That is one cool mom. Making you learn your lesson the hard way. I think my mom would have fainted on the spot if I asked her something like that at that age. Not that it mattered though. I was a heavy victim of second hand smoking. And Chad Cheetah, youâve gotten me curious with that cartoon. Walt Disney did smoked a lot, and even though he knew it was a bad habit, he couldnât stop. If only he could have had enough will power.
In the check out line at ACE Hardware, a little old lady voice behind me said to the guy behind her, âSee those candy cigarettes? I didnât think they could sell those anymore. Yack, yack, blah, blah.â The guy walked out. Anyway, I remember both the hard sugar kind and gum kind. Yes, my mouth is full of mercury fillings, but Iâm German and thatâs our rule.
Goodreads lists a Calvin and Hobbes collection as the top internet book, with six of the other Calvin and Hobbes books also in the top 20. Article in which that was found:http://priceonomics.com/what-is-the-internets-favorite-book/
I first smoked when I was 6 in my oldest sisterâs closet a half-smoked butt..no bad effects, but in lighting it up, itâs a wonder I didnât catch the clear plastic drycleaned clothing covers on fire..
This strip mirrors my only childhood experience with cigarettes, except that we stole a pack from my mom instead of her giving it to us. Same result (for me, anyway).

My mother told me that, when I was VERY little, I once ATE a cigarette. I think she missed work for a day having to care for me.

Maybe your body was trying to tell you something.

Strangely, thereâs no copyright message on the original appearance of this strip. I expect that it must have been added on a reprint.
