Well, we shall see how well Les does.

I wonder how all the Quill haters would feel about Luann & Les?
jemgirl81 over 8 years ago
Hi’d rather see Luann with Goth Guy over Les.
MrGoobinski over 8 years ago
I agree Luann, get Les out of there. Pay Mr Gray all the money he earned for saving your familie butts and creating an incredible place out of an ill thought pipe dream.
DaJellyBelly over 8 years ago
I’m willing to cut Leslie some slack and see if he has matured since we last saw him.

There is no reason for Luann to fall for every guy in the strip.

Well, gee….Dirk changed, so there’s hope.

Blast from the past – Les hits on Tiffany, doesn’t get past the goal line defense.

Sorry – my I Phone isn’t letting me delete when I click on the x. These were unintended repetitions.

Luann didn’t change, all she did was break up with her boyfriend and go on a trip—which she would’ve taken with her boyfriend anyway at some point if they hadn’t broken up. She needs way more work on herself.

Les-lie is the current villain in this strip. We have been through all of the others.

YUP Mr. Grey must have a LOT of stock in the theater/bar/whatever it is, to have his nephew hired. And we don’t know much of him do we
King_Shark over 8 years ago
Les will last until the Evansi are confronted with making him the focus of some storyline with actual dramatic tension. He will then disappear, only to make cameo appearances every year or two until vanishing entirely from the strip. Just like Mini-Elvis, Bernice’s brother, etc etc etc.

So I guess it’s up to YOU Lu, to Help “CHANGE” Les because YOU are so ‘Mature’ Now, Huh?
Well I got some Homework for You AND Your Parents to do this weekend, until Monday’s Strip rolls around.
LOOK up and PONDER P.T. Barnum’s quote: “There’s a SUCKER Born EVERY Minute.” (Make SURE Your Parents Meditate on THAT One)
There’s another rather new saying catching fire, that’s probably not on the ’net yet, but slowly catching fire. Its says: “TRUST and Embrace Everyone and Everything at Your Own RISK.”
Oh, and If Your Parental Units INSIST on keeping Les around, I’d stock on Pepper Spray, AND Keep a Taser at the Ready.
Just in case…..,

Luann may zig when we think she’s going to zag and get awed by TJ running things…

If Luann was 30 years older, this would be considered a midlife crisis.

Most state laws don’t allow mature 18 yr olds to sit at ANY bar.

I’d like to see an arc where Les comes on to Pru, and is undeterred when he finds out she’s gay and tries to change her.

My prediction is les will superficially look like he has changed into a good guy but behind the scenes he will be stealing from thr fuse and will get caught. Mr gray will initially side with les and then will realize his mistske

I smell a segue into the next story arc.
Luanaphile over 8 years ago
In our last sighting of Les(lie), he seemed surly and pretty much the old Les(lie). But his possible rehabilitation is a better story than if he seems magically reformed from the get-go.

If the establishment is closed for business at that moment, is the “bar” legally a “bar”, or just a seating area where liquids can be dispensed?

“People can change”………or not. Many women who become the wives of boyfriends they think they can change find this out the hard way.

He was hired two months ago, back in February. Awfully slow time bringing him on board.

“I’d venture a guess that Les will be his usual old detestable self.”.If he harasses anyone he should not be kept on.

In comics people can and must change (to keep up interest)….I still have friends from kindergarten, and still dream about “Her”….Someday Arron Hill will come back into Luann’s life…

And even if he short, fat and balding he will look the same to her….

I must confessI smell a messHis name is LesHe’ll cause distressAnd will aggress!Or, will unlessA nemesis(TJ, I assess?)Can have successWith craftinessIn an outguessand full redressof all the stress(He’s good at chess)And dispossessOl’ jerky LesOr maybe, yes! – -Can impressSome happiness? And change old Les?So he’ll acquiesce?(That’s just a guess)NeverthelessI stay obsessed. This poem’s also a messBut I digress.

Unless Les is less of a mess, distress!!!You guess?Ha, I didn’t see that whole exchange before I posted my little rhyme. :-) Great minds think alike? (Or some kinda minds anyway :)

how is it that no one here finds luann immature and childish? Leave this boring story line and go to brad’s wedding plans.
You must be new here. Luann’s immaturity has been brought up by posters many times.^^^^^^^^^^and yet at 18 they expect her to have her doctorate in astro physics, have cured cancer, written 17 symphonies, harnessed dark matter, built a TARDIS and piloted a starship. All before lunch. POINT: She is 18 in the strip’s timeline. And overall the strip has been moving on time-wise 100 times faster than in years past.

I’ve never been able to understand why people feel it necessary to repeat the phrase “et cetera,”Reminds me of “Not Necessarily Guilty Per Se” by comedian Don Friesen. If you have Spotify, check it out.

Wonder how Leslie will fare in relationship to Pru & TJ? Maybe both lads can learn a thing or 2 from her. Though TJ has been gaining some points in the last year or so, he is still full of dreams, schemes and egotist pranks. But Looks like Ox, Pru and Mr. Gray will be on hand to keep things in “check” in more ways than one. Makes one wonder how much Frank and Nancy really have in control of their venue/ investment.

Here’s a scenario— Les falls for the older woman— Pru. To him, she provides the stability and training that might have been missing from his early life.*Not a cougar, Pru is not interested. Also, she isn’t into guys. Les has to get over a bias.

> I’ve never been able to understand why people feel it necessary to repeat the phrase “et cetera,” when once is enough>In “the King and I”, after Anna explains to the King what the English (or Latin!) phrase “et cetera” means, it became one of his catch phrases, and he used it repeatedly, as he does here.-According to the Wkikpedia entry on the phrase, this was in fact a common usage by monarchs, since “et cetera, et cetera, et cetera” implied that they knew a great many things to say on a subject but were so important that they couldn’t be bothered actually to say them.

Yeah, maybe Les will be caught skimming money from the Fuse. Mr. Gray will then move his nephew from the bar business to some of his other endeavors, such as the bookie operation, the money laundering of the drug sales, and digging the shallow graves in the desert to dispose of the snitches.

Time will tell. We’ll see how he does.Because nowadays, having family connections is the best (if not only) way to get a job.

I will be jealous of every hit she gets and each catch made since i never had good enough depth perception for those. You may feel free to report them, at least as far as i am concerned.

Worry about the big stuff. Summer is coming and without eyebrows the sweat is going to run right into Pru’s eyes and burn like crazy. She’s better get a head band.

Just take away Gunther’s backpack if he ever comes—and don’t let Knute take charge of the bathrooms, if he still works there. Then it will be safe.

Luannfan, i seem to recall you mentioning an interest in archeology. This links to a very good talk on the archeomicrobiome from the American Museum (yes, NYC) which you might enjoy. It is about 31 minutes long:

Let me know if you see this note. Otherwise, i will try to remember to leave you a heads up tomorrow.
