This was one of the reasons Schulz didn’t like releasing the older strips in the anthology books. The myth that “Peanuts was a kids world, No adults.” was a myth. This arc was the only time adults were drawn (I believe) but you did hear off panel voices. And not the “wa-wah, wa wa-wa-wah” of the TV specials. And i do love the artwork. The empty bottles in panel #1 is such a cool touch.
I was about 25 when I first started playing golf — and in a work league, too. I knew I would be terrible and was really nervous, but my friend who brought me into the league said not to worry, lots of guys weren’t very good. Waiting at the first tee for the rest of our team and our competition, I watched guys tee off and felt a LOT better knowing I couldn’t be any worse than most of them were.
I wonder, isn’t this also the first time we hear Lucy’s full name? And later, even with the last name, we usually heard “Lucy van Pelt.” Only Peppermint Patty called her “Lucille” just like she called Charlie Brown “Chuck.”

Uh huh, sure they won’t. They all want to make sure that good walk is totally ruined.

Great detailed illustrations by Mr. Schulz . . . with a subtle nod to President Eisenhower.

The kids aren’t even knee high to the adults, even counting in perspective.

Its the kids imagination – the adults have suddenly become giants to them.

If it’s a pro-am, maybe she’s paired with Babe.

That last panel was me when I was the ring bearer at my Aunt and Uncle’s wedding, especially the reception. It was a sea of adult and table legs.

I think that’s the first and maybe the last you’ll ever see adult feet on this strip.

Holy cow, I never realized the Peanuts characters were only about 2 feet tall.
