How did Screwball need Pokerface’s help, exactly …?

I can’t believe Putty is just a sitting duck without some trick he can use.

He may be pretty insane now, and Tracy said yesterday that he hadn’t had a violent episode in a long time, but he has a history of being tricky. I don’t think he’s in a good enough mental state to make plans, though.

Putty Puss looked like Tracy yesterday so I do not know why he undid himself.

I’d like to see Poker Face get out of this situation. He would be good to use in a future story with Blackjack who is still on the loose somewhere. Wonder what he thinks about the Tracy scandal? He might want to do something to help.

Thought of a one-liner that James Cagny impersonators like to use: “You’re the guy who killed my brudder…”

In typical theatrical fashion (normal for comic strips, etc.,) Screwball delivers a long dissertation prior to pulling the trigger, rather than: “Hi, Putty Puss- bye, Putty Puss.”

Putty Puss looks like a goner, unless a deus ex machina shows up, by which I mean Sam, Tracy, and possibly the Asp, in a cop car. If that occurs, Pokerface may find it the more prudent course to speed off without Screwball. We shall see….

Gweedo – thanks for the link yesterday. Some pretty esoteric tables and doodads but short on phono cartridges. I don’t mean to turn this forum into an audiophile discussion so I may drop you a follow up privately if you don’t mind..

Tracy and Sam are on their way over……in addition, Putty Puss is way too fun and popular a villain to kill off …..no suspense here, other than whether Tracy saves him, or Putty does it himself…..

I don’t think he wants to shoot him out on the front porch. There’s too much chance of someone actually witnessing it.
