Much of her poetry was written in common or ballad meter. That means that the tune from any song using one of those will work with them. Examples include, "The Yellow Rose of Texas, “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing”, and “The Ballad of Gilligan’s Island”.

I know nothing about poetry, is it maintaining the cadence?
What the heck is maintaining the cadence, anyway? Who comes up with this stuff?
