If you dig a little, dirt aways piles up.. There is fertile dirt, sand, and rock. What kind of metaphor dirt are you digging up?

There’s a whole subcategory of science fiction called “alternative history”, starring the “butterfly effect”, in which some tiny event in the past occurred somewhat differently, altering the entire future. I wonder what we did wrong in this reality.

That would indicate the whole planet would be better off, and indicates he’s found a more peaceful one as well?

Jeffrey, do us all a favour and teleport Danae over to one of the other universes and forget to bring her back

Probabilities could lead to such worlds. Worlds that would not want us to move there.

Quantum theory assumes the presence of an infinite number of universes. Kinda like a spectrum…gradually different from the others, each one just slightly different….Remember when you almost got hit by that car? In another part of the spectrum you did…..Freaky, huh? But that is current science…

" But that is current science…".No, it’s not. It’s merely one hypothesis currently being discussed by scientists. It doesn’t become “science” unless and until it is demonstrated to be valid. (But that’s not possible. If there are parallel universes that don’t interact, then the non-interaction precludes any such demonstration. And if they do interact, then they’re not really separate.).In spite of my above reasoning, I did enjoy Larry Niven’s treatment of the subject in his short story “All the Myriad Ways”.

It used to be: “may the best candidate win”

Today it is more like, “may the worst candidate lose” and no one can really figure out which is the worst, so let us hope that the worst candidate will lose.

Is this the new Steve Wozniak? If he’s also got a touch of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates (He won’t find that help in Danae) hell be a big winner!

The extra dimensions needed to navigate the multiverse of possibilities are called choice & chance. If your universe sucks; make a choice, take a chance. You may need to shed a few folks who want to keep dragging you back to their “reality.”

All this talk of the possible existance of parallel universes (or dimensions) has been in the minds of comic book readers since Gardner Fox wrote the legendary “Flash of Two Worlds” in issue 123 of The Flash in 1961.
