Nancy knows, from the look on her face, the infamous saying that whatever can go wrong will go wrong, and it will at the worst possible time. I’m afraid to imagine what could go wrong. Could it have to do with Toni’s brother, TJ, Dirk, or something that we have not seen before in Luannverse?

I did most of the planning for my wedding, and it wasn’t that big a deal. Set a time at the registry office. Inform those relatives and friends I can stand being in the same room with. Herself does the same with hers. Help them to book hotels. Hire posh cars and photographer. Hardest part was finding a place for the reception. Once found, order meal and cake. That was about it.

Oh, oh! Everything is going a little bit too smoothly! I can tell by Luann’s Mom (Nancy?) rolling her eyes! =-O Well, at least Toni is somewhat less stressed compared to how she was feeling Before shopping for her wedding dress! :) At least we know Greg has something up his sleeve about the wedding preparations! ;)

Okay here are my favorite wedding dresses:

51 and 418 are absolutely gorgeous, but just aren’t Toni.

I can imagine Toni wearing these:

132 and 124 are really lovely.

301, I can imagine this in real life and it would be really pretty.—

    133 is absolutely stunning.

376 and 537 are positively exquisite.

Kudos to whoever designed these dresses!

It was really hard to decide but here are my final choices:.

402, 458, and 232 are in a virtual tie for second place.

I can imagine 402 with those off the shoulder sleeves in tulle. I wonder what the designer had in mind. Too bad there isn’t a description. I just love the cutout on the back and scalloped edges.

458 is simple yet elegant. Definitely very Toni-ish.

232 is really beautiful. Not too over the top, just pure elegance. I could hardly decide between this one and . . .

The winner in my opinion is 493. I absolutely love this dress for Toni. It’s so simple but exquisitely beautiful. I imagine it in white satin with that gorgeous lace possibly in cream, maybe white. And her hair and veil are just sheer perfection, omg. This is truly the right choice for Toni.

A little off subject here – I think the higher – ups here should give us back the ability to insert images into the comments again. They do not have to be large ones. If they are earlier strips put up for calrification of a point or to bring newbies up to speed, they could be standard size. If they are images glommed off of Google or one’s computer, allow a modest 250 X 250 limit. I had always tried to keep my images smaller than 340 X 340. Hopefully, they will reconsider. If they went at least that far, i would reconsider renewing my PRO status.

I remember at the get-go, Nancy had reservations about Toni (something like if it seems too good to be true, it is too good to be true). There Is still an undertow in her expression. However if I had to bet, I’d put my money on Brad & Toni getting married.

Not that it would really be my pick for Toni to wear, but Design 356 is like the one I had posted a while ago. I was trying to imagine a wedding dress with a “fire” or “firewoman” theme to it, and that is pretty much it.

Still think there is going to be a large fire where all fire personnel will be called to duty just before the ceremony. Toni will have to change out of her bride’s dress and into fire gear. They will wind up getting married at the fire station. Just a wild guess.

Weddings are like military campaigns. Things never go exactly according to plan. Something always goes wrong. Wait until she finds out TJ ignored her wishes and included fireworks, the one thing she said she didn’t want. Considering what happened to his food truck, he’ll probably burn the whole reception hall down.

Clever use of the signature and date to identify the background silhouette figures as Greg and Karen keeping an eye on their characters as they perform for us in the foreground—like a good stage manager and director!

Likewise, Nancy’s expression (panel 3) shows that she clearly knows that Luann does not know whereof she speaks (with her mouth full; how gross)….

Another answer from management (currently at the bottom of today’s comments on http://blogs.gocomics.com/2016/10/talking-bout-ch-ch-ch-ch-changes-or-some-explanation-on-recent-updates-to-gocomics.html ):

    -

“We are going to play around with letting users link back to strips already on GoComics, because we think that’s valuable as well. Whether that’s in place by the time of the beta is unknown, so I’d rather not make a promise I don’t know I can keep there.”

    -

“Likewise we’ll explore letting people use more common formatting techniques, but we do want to be mindful of how those things effect our mobile users (especially font-size). That might take a little back and forth on everyone’s part.”

     •  Reply
  53. Fb img 1492228790255

    Continued:

    -

“Embedding strips into the new comment system is difficult for the same reason that allowing images is problematic. Namely, we’d have to shrink the image down to an almost unreadable size to have it fit within the comment box, and we feel that’s both a disservice to our readers who might be visually impaired as well as to the creators who want their work to be seen as they intended. We hope that we can allow links back to strips to be seen as a middle ground there.”

    -

“And on the ability to post FAQ-length comments – We have what I think you will agree is an even better solution in place: All comic landers (as we call the homepage for each title) have the ability to add custom pages. That includes About pages, Character pages, creator bio pages, and even custom pages like a FAQ or “New Readers Start Here” page. Those extra pages are wholly up to the creators. So in the case of a long-running serial like Luann, a new reader page is perfect fit."

BTW, I an niether a pessimist nor an optimist. I am a pragmatist. My life has been hard enough at times to cause that response because i have been through hard times, but i have surprisingly had some difficulties turn out right in the long run, even having the side effect of a mis-prescribed medication cause a side-effect that exposed a serious medical problem requiring surgery. So, i know that at times what seems bad works out fine, but other times does not. What i also know is that without constructive communication the chances of a good result are diminished. That is why i want people here to politely explain what matters to them at that GoComics blog site. It does not matter if your preferences differ from mine. What matters is civilly and constructively moving toward optimization.
