Transcript:
Frazz: Hacker's team has been out-scored 287-0 and they're 1-5. Miss. Plainwell: Wait. What? Frazz: Pastis prep didn't show. Miss. Plainwell: The fighting hobbits? Frazz: Yeah. The feisty four-foot, fit, fat, fur-foot forfeit. Miss. Plainwell: Fetid, Frazz.

LOVE IT!! Hey, he mentions Jef in his strip quite a lot.
Way to go, Jef. Love you both.

Great. Maybe the best friendly rivalry in the comics. Great fun! But Jef, alliteration does not necessarily a pun make!

Pastis is only four feet tall?

I’m sure Stephen Pastis appreciates the menton!
brianwar about 8 years ago
Why does he take her hat while they are running?
lyall.herr about 8 years ago
AAARGH! And I thought this was my safe space from Pastis’s pathetically predictably preposterous puns!

Frazz! Now you’re going to get girl cooties!

I love Pastis-Mallet cross talk!

How did they get the one win if they didn’t score?
krcaddis about 8 years ago
How’d they ever win one? A forfeit?
Fido (aka Felix Rex) about 8 years ago
The overall score should be 287-1. The official score of a forfeit in football is 1-0. (Baseball is 9-0, Basketball is 2-0).

Now we’ll have to check Pearls Before Swine to see how Pastis responds. The alliterative tongue twister was enough to elicit a response, but putting the hat on backwards demands it.
Demmiaa about 8 years ago
lol. Great strip today!

Fantastic feat, Frazz! Mallett: alliteration’s awesome. Always, actually.
jerrodmason about 8 years ago
Hmmm. How did they win a game without scoring a point?

Pastis is a hobbitual offender. Love this!

Can’t wait for this story arc (or lack of story arc) to end.
mggreen about 8 years ago
Oh, no! Not you, too, Jet! ! Pastisitis
mggreen about 8 years ago
No! Not you too, Jef! Pastisitis is way too virulent!!!
Stephen Gilberg about 8 years ago
Of course, Pastis would put the pun in the second-to-last panel and save the last for his own characters complaining.

“Fatuous” might have been a more cogent comment.
ravenoverthegreen about 8 years ago
No no no, don’t infect this strip, that’s still good, with that burned out boring one.
rekam Premium Member about 8 years ago
So stop reading it or stop making snide comments about it.

Seems like you would have something better to do with your time than read a strip you don’t like.

No bold? Now I’ve had it, BigPuma. I’ve vastly overestimated you but today’s ugly response by you sets me straight. You’re not nearly as bright as I thought you were. In fact, you’re a bit stupid. And you’re a pretty nasty guy as you show us by continually lording over us. You desperately need to show us, the unwashed masses, how bad this strip is and how terrible a person Mallett is in your jaundiced eyes. Judging by other comments, you’re not just in the vast min

Bigpuma…. please remember that I have often agreed with you that some of what goes on towards some characters and situations is a bit mean spirited….. but….. please do not tie the cross country team into being a “bad” thing. Cross Country is….

…She loved being part of the group… and worked hard and became stronger. She is now in the upper half of the team. If it was like many other school teams, where the less skilled are teased and berated…. she would have not persevered as she did. Cross Country teams are about personal growth.

Maybe this is what Frazz was referring to. 300 lb high school football players whose opposing teams bailed. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/early-lead/wp/2016/10/06/high-school-teams-in-washington-are-forfeiting-rather-than-playing-school-with-nfl-sized-players/?hpid=hp_hp-more-top-stories-2_football-8a%3Ahomepage%2Fstory

You do have a rotten view of things. Only you would find such things in this. What is your limit puma?

Wonder what the Zeeba Zeeba Eata crocs have to say about this …
Good one.

A addled lies with you and your rotten jollies here.

I’m convinced Pastis feeds gags to Mallett, the same way Carson used to feed gags to Letterman after he retired from “The Tonight Show” (kind of a consolation prize to Dave after Leno got “The Tonight Show”).

At least 3 different people (no knowing how many were flagged for whatever reason) asked the same question; how did they get one in the win column? Please read the strip (and maybe the comments) before adding your own
