Marigold is wearing cool half-moon spectacles. The thing about being a unicorn is that your glasses never slip down off your forehead.

No, just no.

One of the reasons I got into this comic strip was because it WASN’T political. If this wonderful strip starts turning into preachy pro-Hillary and anti-Donald propaganda, this will undoubtably be my least favorite arc (next to the Pohumon Go one).

Everyone’s crying because someone might have an opinion they don’t want to hear, and I’m just staring in horror at Marigold’s clearly broken foreleg. (If there’s anyone here who ISN’T mortified by good political cartooning, check out Ruben Bolling’s “Calvin and Hobbes”-based parody series at TheNib.)

We could use an election fairy. That way, no one can remember what Bill Hilary Clinton did from Whitewater to the e-mail scandal.

Hopefully Unicorn elections are more honest.

Better. You can’t go wrong with Election Faeries, whatever those are.

In an interview someone posted earlier, Dana specifically said she’s not going to be political in the comics any more.

Wow. Dana acknowledges the existence of elections, and we’ve already got four people threatening to boycott the strip.

While I agree that Dana has handled the subject of elections skillfully, apparently the readers just can’t. Sniping from one side or the other (and both are equally bad) just spoils the day for the rest of us. So, let us agree to keep our political opinions to ourselves ON THIS FORUM. Thank you.

Hopefully there isn’t a Donald Trump unicorn.

This arc has my attention.

Personally? Knowing Dana, I think it’s astonishing she managed to keep herself from bringing up the elections in the comic before now.

Given the general theme of the comic on average though, I wouldn’t panic just yet. I figure Dana will spend a week parodying elections on a whole via the unicorn perspective on the subject (like she’s done with a lot of other real-world subjects) for a few laughs, and that’ll be the end of it for the foreseeable future.

FYI, to those that have a revulsion to the political arena, I’ve found that, as tempting as it is, trying to ignore it doesn’t make it go away. I’ve found it’s just better to grit your teeth and roll with it until it’s over. It’s more painless than you’d expect.

Besides, I sometimes wonder if it’s not because so many try to ignore politics that things are in its current mess that it is now, because not enough people cared enough soon enough to do something to FIX IT.

I might vote for the Great Pumpkin and the Election Faerie.
