Why does Lynn always misspell “stupid” as “stoopid”? I assume it’s on purpose, but I’m not getting the joke. She doesn’t misspell “doofus”. LOL

Lynn’s Notes:The dialogue in this strip may result in some cranky mail. The word “nidiot,” of course, doesn’t exist. But the way kids talk to each other is exactly like this. I was constantly trying to create sound effects and speech patterns, which would read the way someone casually speaks.

It’s a shame that some people feel obligated to elevate their perceived level of intelligence by pointing out the tiniest “errors” in others’ writing or grammar. It must be something lacking in their self-image.

Actually, it’s supposed to be “dufist.” With a “t” on the end.

Note also that “dufist” has a long “u” sound; similar to that in “ruthless.”
