Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
I see the witch from Disneyâs Sleeping Beauty under the S of CosUCon. I feel I should know the guy on the right but I canât remember who he is. Whereâs AnyFace? He knows these things.
Wasnât her costume blue? And where are her antennae/horns? They wouldnât fit under her blue headdress, how are they fitting under that green headband?
- The tall silhouette with the spiked headpiece near Tracyâs windshield might be Hela, from Marvelâs âThorâ comics, or it might be Aku, from âSamurai Jack.â Probably the latter.
- The girl in pink might be Chun-Li, from the âStreet Fighterâ games, though her hair also has a definite âSailor Moonâ look to it.
- The guy at the far right is probably someone, but Iâm not sure who.
There are a few other figures with minor details to them that I could guess at, but not with any degree of certainty.
Though the emphasis here is on âCosplay,â many also feature celebrity guests, voice actors who have participated in dubbing various series, members of the Japanese production teams, and âJ-Popâ musicians as well.
This would have been a good time to bring back âThemesongâ for a day or two.
Arguably the heart of an anime convention is its âExhibit Hallâ or âDealerâs Room,â where attendees can purchase a wide variety of merchandise, including posters, wall scrolls, books and manga, Blue-Ray and DVD disks, plushies, figures and art statues, toys, and â assuming the conventionâs contract with its host space allows for it â Japanese snack items such as Pocky and Mochi.
Iâd even once come across a sweet bottled juice drink infused with bits of flavored fruit jelly âŚ
âŚI especially like the custom of the Traffic LightâŚhehe. Wait and see what lies within those walls and customs. Maybe weâll see someone with spots in front of their mask or even flies.
I see a whole passel of folks having issues that need a good looking at. Makes me wanna be a shrink and rent a booth there. All Iâd need would be a sofa and a cash register.
Not sure if I want to start this thread, it isnât really Tracy related, but said âwhat the heyâ. One of the things about Japanese anime and games that I have always been amazed by is the music. I have heard some of the most awesome stuff, and it is for a half hour anime or video game. What piece of Japanese music have you heard and thought, âI just canât get enough of this!â How about ear worms? Any song you just canât get out of your head? Let me know.
One of my faves is the music for Ni no Kuni â Wrath of the White Witch This PS3 game has video done by Studio Ghibli and one of the best sound tracks I have ever heard in a game. Here is a small sample.
Panel 2âs setting reminds me a bit of the Rosemont Convention Center (NW suburban Chicago), not too far from where I live. It has been known to host a comic con from time to time, though the currently running C2E2 is being held at downtown McCormick Place in Chicago http://tinyurl.com/yag3ym6 .
Tracy, who seems to be (by my hypothesis regarding location) driving in from the north, may have difficulty finding a parking place, however, unless he dares to pull police privilege (not legal in these circumstances, but not unheard of, either).
@ Tarry Plaguer: The earworm for me was the Svengoolie theme â complete with the continuous screams in the background! Thanks to whomever pointed out, the soundtrack was Link Wrayâs Rumble!
The red-headed chick with the back turned to us could be Little Orphan Annie with anew dress style more suited to her age which is eternal adolescence.

I have a feeling that this story will about the mystery of the missing cosplay costume.
The best way to win is to sabotage the competition, at least you eliminate the best of the lot. 8D
