Uh oh…..they ticked off Sam Catchem….that ain’t good.

As toahero speculated yesterday, Sam does have relatives in that cemetery!

So, it’s the second vandalism incident this month. What are the chances that Big Margie is behind both of those incidents?

She may not be, but damaging other people’s property is a crime and those tombstones aren’t cheap. Now if she did it because the dead are Jews then it ups it to a hate crime.

One more, and we’ve got a legitimate pattern.

Why wouldn’t hate crimes be on their agenda?

What does this desecrating of a Jewish cemetery have to do with the robbery at the cosplay convention? Is Big Margie stupid enough to bury the dough in graves and digging cash up as needed?

Stolen money, vengeance, hate crimes…this is a wild storyline so far!

Traditional ‘Chester Gould’ stories occasionally took wild swings, and involved an escalation of events.

Big Margie may have gone over-board if she’s trying to distract Tracy from the theft.

Slow News day in Tracyville if this is front page news. Sadly this happens all the time in the big apple.

Tracy looks like he’s rolling his eyes and thinking; “OY VEY, Catchem’s going on another rant!”

Well theres no chance of the Margie’s NOT going to jail, because once Sam is on the case he does what he does best… CATCHEM!! (yup, I went there lol)

Oh and for the record…. I cant tell the difference in todays strip between Joe’s work and Shelley’s… that’s some SERIOUS SKILL right there! Great job Shelley!

Okay, so I totally misread yesterday’s strip. I simply thought that perhaps we were going on a Sweatbox type of arc! That whatever Big Margie was up to perhaps also had to do with grave robbing or something. But, apparently, no, BM is far more despicable than we were originally led to believe.

What we know so far: Big Margie is the “brains” of this outfit, but her actions (big spending and now, grave desecration) suggest that she isn’t all that bright. (Speculated by someone else, BM may be doing this to draw the police away from the robbery. But this may draw the police away from the robbery but to their doorstep, anyway!) Middle Margie does the dirty work – she pulled off the heist. So far, there is little to exonerate these two.

Little Margie: Now, this is the difficult one. She seems to know what Big and Middle are doing is wrong – but – for whatever reason, doesn’t seem able to say “no” to them. She may be mentally challenged – a possible defense for her once they are finally caught. But knowing that what they are doing is wrong probably weighs against her: If you know you’re doing wrong, why didn’t you say no?

Last, and certainly least: Congratulations to Team Tracy for this sudden, unexpected, but much needed turnaround in this story! While I certainly could use some more Svengoolie (and the attendant rubber chickens), I, for one, am glad that the circus has left town – and we are now digging into a nitty gritty crime!

Out of curiosity, how many Jewish cemeteries would there normally be in a Chicago-size city like Tracyville?

The algorithm seems to select those comments with the most replies, and – I suspect – in the event of a tie either the comment with the most individual typewritten characters, or whichever came first.

I think possibly linking Jerry Siegel and Sam Catchem as relatives would be interesting.

By the way, is anyone else having problems with the Comment and Reply buttons? I frequently have to press a button twice to get it to post.
