BO’s comments about never making a payment seems to indicate that he feels he bought Sunny Dell Acres outright. I wonder if the bank has gone through a merger or two in the meantime and whether records have been tampered with? (I like the Matty Squared theory too)
Avenger09, Neil Wick, and many others: The great irony here is that many of us assumed the costume convention was the comic relief story. I’m starting to think this story is supposed to be the comic relief!
I paid off my mortgage long ago. When I heard about Bank of America foreclosing on former customers who had paid off their mortgage (and more customers current on their payments – why was BoA never prosecuted for that, but got billions of taxpayer dollars instead?), I went to check for any liens on our house. Lo and behold, our bank had also “forgotten” to record the payoff at the county courthouse. Fortunately, I still had the receipts filed, and way able to straighten that out.
I’m enjoying this story so far. Hope it will atone for that last Margie mess. Always good to see BO — even Locker & Fletcher squeezed some good stories out of him.
So far none of the major movers in these bank created scams have been prosecuted. When asked they say the “banks are too big to prosecute” or some such nonsense. They can get away with robbing millions of people of thousands of dollars each and they are immune from the Law. Now that is degenerate bit of criminality there.
Ah, B.O.! You will not get off the hook that easily, I fear! If you did have a mortgage, and did make payments to someone other than Paragon, maybe they bought up your mortgage from the other and effed up the records. You need skilled legal help here, now, before you find yourself and Gertie homeless!
A big drop in comments today. In fact, the only strip that has been over 100 comments since this story began last Saturday is yesterday’s – which did not have B.O. or Gertie in it.

Uh oh…wrong bank?

Oh Joy, another day
That’s just as bad as yesterday
Criticize the strip, of course you know I will
My reputation’s intact, like the famous fool on the hill
Reading all this farce, puts me in a golden slumber
If you hate the words I say you know my name, look up my number
Every day I hold out hope and I know I should let it be
But I’m greatly disappointed so please don’t bother me.

It seems we can rule out someone siphoning off his monthly payments if he never made any.

Look like it’s my turn to say Good Morning everyone. The rest of you are not quite awake with the birds, I see. Me? I’m awake ahead of them.

Could it be that we are about to be treated with a story based on identity theft?

Didn’t Diet Smith give them that house? B.O., tell them Molon Labe! or call StillDaMan for representation.
