The ‘gravity’ of the situation has me becoming anxious for my next vacation. :) Whether it’s past or not, not entirely sure of the relevance of past cartoons meaning you are on vacation or have arrived back and are working on new work, or somewhere inbetween. Regardless, vacation on Wiley, vacation on, waiting for the slideshow when you return.
“Reason is the greatest enemy that faith has; it never comes to the aid of spiritual things, but—more frequently than not—struggles against the divine Word, treating with contempt all that emanates from God.”—Martin Luther, Table Talks in 1569.
Science is a series of beliefs based on fact. Religion is a series of beliefs based on faith. To use one set of beliefs to prove or refute the other is an exercise in futility. The miracle of the Bible is not in its historic or scientific accuracy; it’s that it is still relevant after thousands of years.
I think it is SO WONDERFUL to live in a country where religion can be used in gentle humor and no one will come to your home and chop your head off . I’m Christian , but find nothing offensive of a cartoon about Moses parting the waters or God turning up Gravity . And freedom of expression allows the offended to delete or move to the next comic. Humor is a gentle way of communicating ..
I also believe there are galaxies we’ve never seen and scientific discoveries that will astound us in the coming years .But I’ll never see them , I will have believe the astronomers and scientists.
You may not see the “galaxies of the future”, but you can sure see a lot of galaxies now! Invest in a decent telescope, 4 or 5 inch at least, and enjoy the show!
Oddly enough, there are those of us who believe that faith and science are not mutually exclusive and that people of faith can be highly intelligent and well educated. They just aren’t the people of faith the news media chooses to focus on.
I would have thought that if someone offered the average person a really great reward after they died provided that they did everything that the person making the offer told them to do while they were alive, and that many people were either currently burning in hell or enjoying a beautiful afterlife, depending on whether or not they had accepted a similar offer, that the individual receiving that offer would notice that no one would be able to ask for a refund if it turned out to be a hoax. However, I laughed when someone came up with the idea of selling water in bottles when it was readily available from the nearest faucet too.
Thinking is a sin on the left. They are only supposed to think what the DNC and their lefty news nerd minions tell them to think.Ask any of them.If you don’t agree with them they start name calling in only a couple of minutes.
Isaiah 1:18 God says: Come now, and let us reason together…Matthew 18:12 Jesus asked: "What do you think? Philippians 4:8 Paul encourages:…whatsoever things are true…think on these things.
I’ve looked and I’ve looked and I can only see a republican mascot but not a democrat one. Is this a political statement or does Wiley just not like drawing donkeys much? :)

Martin Luther felt the same way.

Faith based physics – isn’t that creationism?

Well, the Wiley Bear looks happy enough…Strange, though,…“Faith” and “Thinking” are usually mutually exclusive concepts!

Wait – Danae is accepting that God is male?

I just like the concept of a “Mrs. Almighty”, and the idea that she had the rational understanding of gravity.

Well…I guess it’s no worse than believing in the multiverse, parallel universes, spontaneous generation, punctuated equilibrium, etc.
