Anytime I hear this nonsense, my response is ‘hand over your smart phone.’ It is based on science (and a lot of engineering). It is a package deal: no science, no smartphone.
Meanwhile, all those out-of-work Trump voters in the Midwest and South are demanding that the horrible old Government do something about the fact that no one is hiring them.
Government regulations are only oppressive if they help someone ELSE.
Danae underestimates the intellect of the average farmer. That’s not a surprise, since most of the ‘intelligentsia’ do. They are very parochial, and value the opinion of no one outside of their little coastal communes- and only that of 1% of those who live there.
Yes some government actions or regulations go overboard, but I also remember flying into Los Angeles in 67 when the smog was so thick the pilot noted we had to go to instrument flight rules; I was returning from ‘Nam. The laws/regulations changed, now Zinke, Pruitt et al want to throw all that away and go back to the eve of destruction. BTW: on cost saving conservatives, one of Reagan’s budget items was around 15 million to study the airworthyness of the F-100, when even the National Guard hadn’t flown any of them in over a decade! More cash for the MIC!
Oh, if only the “gub’mint” paid attention to the laws of physics. Sadly, there are probably people within it (Sen. Inhofe comes to mind) who think that those laws can be repealed as easily as, say, Obamacare. (Well, that one turned out not to be quite as easy as they expected, but you get the general idea.)

Oh my. Like all regulations are good regulations, eh?

Some are very anti-government until they need the governments assistance. All of a sudden the government’s not all that bad.

The laws of physics are laws. Deregulation won’t work. You have to repeal and replace.

In the vein of government regulation, creationists should be banned from using fossil fuels.

Danae needs to study the wisdom of Commander Montomery Scott of the Starship Enterprise — “YOU CAN’NA CHANGE THE LAWS OF PHYSICS!”

But you can sure bend them!
