We live in a society where the best return is in selling the sizzle not the steak. Facts become hidden and the truth is a mirage. Continue down this path and it’s cultural suicide.
Frankly she should start with the theory of gravity and graduate to laws after that. Use the word ‘theory’ and people will agree it can be ignored blithely.
We ‘shall’ bring back the glory days of the ‘dark ages’. Kids will scream in terror as we force them to once again talk to people face to face as we jettison technology for the betterment of decrying technology as witchcraft and force kids to once again go outside and play without knowing where they have gone. Long live the conspirators.
Next, the “Government” will consider repealing the law of “intelligence” and replace it with “stupidity”! Oh, wait, too late, since last year, on Nov. 8, 2016, the voting public did just that!
An interesting new book, Fantasyland by Kurt Andersen, points out that the theme of wanting to invent one’s own reality has been running thru American society since before there was an America, dating back to the Puritans and their “shining city on a hill”. It’s had its waxings and wanings, but it’s always been there. (FWIW, Andersen started writing the book several years before the last presidential election, so he wasn’t simply reacting to it.)
The repeal is currently in process. String theory requires 11 dimensions for the math needed to reconcile quantum mechanics with Issac and Albert. One theory has it that God hovered over the waters, and the other is the big bang where something was created out of a spot or so of dirt. The argument is over where the dirt came from and both answers are faith based.
There are plenty of people who are already rebelling against biology (you know, where there are only two non-mutated options, XX or XY), so why not physics next?

Non Sequitur is a clever strip, but flogging a political stance as you do here degrades the appeal.

only problem – the government being petitioned isn’t the one that created and executes the law. They have no ability to repeal it.

Sorry Danae, if the world was flat, cats would have shoved everything off.
