Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
It is certainly true that Chester Gould had comedy breaks in his strip, although usually they were between stories. Of course, our gang at the MCU doesnât know about the current criminal plot yet. But we have been seeing not one, but two crimes brewing and I had hoped that today would move the story along somehow. They will probably break tomorrow for 9-11; maybe thatâs why they used up a whole Sunday strip with filler material.
It is good to see the MCU team having a joke together, although I must admit, I donât get the connection between the spoiled cheese and Samâs âInquisitionâ remark.
Please donât quote me, but, I am pretty sure it is from a Monty Python Gag! It has been a long time since I have seen this gag, but I really think it was Monty Python.
It is just a simple joke for Sam changing Shredded Cheese to Dreaded Cheese and the whole gang jumps in on the joke and turns it on Sam. This one is not a thinker but a light hearted play on words. Go with the flow and smile!
, personally, would have rather started today checking up on the Nitrates (anyone remember them?) than this cornball waste of space. Here, some serious stuff is afoot on two fronts, and the cops are yukking it up in the squad room.

Once there was a savory cheese, a taste sensation fĂȘted
Growth of mold on cheese too old, a science project dreaded.
Over time it turned to slime, now spoiled, rank and fetid.
None dare to discard the mess theyâve aided and abetted.
Please think twice. It is not nice to abandon cheese thus shredded
Far past mere stink. I saw it wink. This creature should be netted.
An office mascot infamous. When on its leash itâs petted
One of a kind. Its third eye blind. To the Creature Con it jetted.

Children at play
No matter the age
Always fun to see
Although I do think
Thereâd be a big stink
if Sam had suddenly cut the cheese
Hopefully for us
This MCU fuss
Will only last for a day
If tomorrow theyâre still
Accomplishing nil
This diversion would be a mistake

OK, I donât get it, either. Unless itâs a sidelong hat tip to Monty Python and âNo one expects the Spanish Inquisition!â
Iâll check back tomorrow for enlightenment.

The hurricane has my mind occupied today.

Todayâs strip reminds me of the time Tracy grew a moustache and the whole squad room held him down and shaved it off.

A âSunday stand-aloneâ for the Tracy cast and corny characters: the humor is cheesy and dreaded; it should be shredded!
I think I may need a little sip of something to go along with that!
