Denial that there were dinosaurs at the same time as Homo sapines? But there weren’t. ‘DeniaI’ usually implies refusal to accept what is true. Not what is false. So, I don’t understand.
Some people are just consumed by their work, I guess…..Can’t say their environment isn’t changing, though… I bet it feels warmer already! Although that might be hard for some readers to digest. BTW, I’d like to thank Baslim the Beggar for his detailed yet concise comments about climate change,the other day, complete with references…
When certain people rely on lies for their money, they don’t need to PROVE something that objectively does exist, exists. They merely need to yell it very loudly indeed, and hope for the ignorance that springs eternal within the human breast.
I find it interesting that some people want to see the snake as a dinosaur.
The correlation here was more with the tobacco industry, though likely not exclusively. The were the first to successively not prove the other scientists wrong, but just create doubt. Proving they didn’t cause health issues would have been outright fraud and would have got them caught as outright liers. Merely creating doubt, not as legally culpable. Largely as, they were well aware that tobacco, particular in the form of cigarettes, caused cancer and other health issues. However, that was inconvenient for selling an addictive, both in chemical addiction and ritual habit. Getting over the chemical, easy, the ritual of lighting a cigarette, especially the bonding ritual of lighting a cigarette with others, much harder to shake.
There has even been a causal link between cigarettes and schizophrenia,. It seems research has been stifled since the initial studies, that hadn’t actually expected that result. They were studying the link with schizophrenia and smoking, the fact that there could be a causal element came as a surprise, as they were more used to people with schizophrenia self medicating with cigarettes. Which would be a study welcomed by Big Tobacco, as finding a medical benefit to smoking, that they could get behind. Once a causal correlation was found, I’m sure they are trying to find a scientific path that proves what they want, without the bits they don’t want. Sigh.

Better to create the myth than deny the truth. Looks like a bunyip to me.

Occam’s razor: the simplest explanation that adequately explains an observation is most likely to be true.
Murphy’s blunt instrument: the explanation that requires the most conspirators and explaining away of facts is most likely to be believed.

Looks a lot like a reference to ‘climate warming.’
Question:
If the globe is experiencing one of its warming cycles;
And, if the products of human existence also add to atmospheric warming;
Then, the coincidence of the two ‘cycles’ must increase the overall effect to the detriment of earth’s environment.
Therefore, since one cannot control the natural global cycle, cannot one take steps to control the human cycle?
Note: The if’s are used only to fit the format of the statement. There are no if’s about global warming or the human contribution to its increase.

Now that the snake has eaten, everybody is safe for a good long while – it will take 6 months to digest a meal like that! Nothing to worry about!

The good news is that the snake ate Ogg and not someone else.
Nobody like Ogg. He smelled bad and had rotten teeth. He also thought he was the god’s gift to women and the world’s best hunter.
The bad news is…. even the snake couldn’t stand Ogg and promptly regurgitated him thus giving rise to various resurrectionist myths.

@froeck: my question was not whether the earth will remain hot. This warming is just one more cycle in its existence.
My question was: how much damage will be done during this combined cycle of natural and man-made heat increases?
And, no, a heated glass of water will not remain hot for long after it is removed from the heat. However that is not the question.
The question is: how long can one apply excess heat to the glass before the water evaporates and the integrity of the glass fails?
