This is one reason growing up with animals is so good for children. It safely exposes them to sights, sounds and experiences of the world beyond them and teaches them poise is a messy world.

This hits home. I just got up from a night where my cats kept me awake for half of it while chasing each other. I pity he downstairs neighbors.
