This strip settles the dispute among two commentators yesterday. Susie wasnât thinking quickly. Calvin really was supposed to be covering the mythology of Mercury which was closer to his talents but which he still avoided.

did that flower shop do deliveries? Since Mercury was the messenger god it would make sense heâd appear on the logo of a company that delivered things. Heck Iâm surprised there isnât some UPS or FedEx style package delivery service like âMercuryâs moversâ or âHermes home deliveryâ or something like that. Heck, since Mercury regularly went to and from the underworld you can even have a slogan like âweâll go to hell and back for you!â

No jury would convict Susie.

Winged feet, something Calvin had better acquire in the next two seconds!
Sugar Bombs 95 about 7 years ago
Calvin got the winged feet thing right, but not the flower symbolism. I wonder where he got THAT idea.

As Susie prepares to kick some puny, six year old boy butt.

So basically, all of Calvinâs research is limited to what was stated in the first panel. Thatâs more than what you usually get out of him.

Susie has had enough of this little imp. Looks like sheâs about to chew him up and spit him out. Run Calvin run.

Given the extent of Calvinâs âpreparationâ, itâs surprising he has so much to say!

Hard to believe, but I confidently predict that in just a few years Calvin and Susie will be hookinâ up.

Calvinâs character is quite mercurial!

Good story for a 6 y/o. I bet all but one (Suzie) believes it too. Iâd give him an A mostly for imagination.

The discussion about celestial bodies ends, as Calvin is about to see stars!

Suzie appears to be on the cusp of proving that not all women come from Venus.

In Calvinâs case FTD stands for Failure To Deliver.

Never mind Mercury, Cal, youâre in a world of trouble!
