All cats on duty to see to their Woman. Even though Elvis was just publically humiliated by having his kitten pictures shown, he’s still his Mommy’s Special Boy.
That last panel just makes me go “awwwwww.” Pucky pats would make anyone feel better. I feel better just seeing it.
I have had cats who seemed to be checking up on me when I was laid out on the couch, feeling awful. Or maybe they were just making sure I’d be able to feed them.
This is one of my favourite arcs! So many great lines in it, truisms really: You’re the biggest spoon, peoples’ strongest medicine is soup, people recover from illness with giant mugs of tea and hours of British mystery shows (reminds me of my girlhood and hours of watching “A Most Unsuitable Job for a Woman” and sipping Blackberry tea with cream). And gotta love Lupin’s knowing eyes in panel five because throwing up behind the fridge is the quickest way to get well. lol!
Again, Georgia has added new details. Especially in the final panel, where Puck is gently patting the woman, and Elvis is hissing in the background. I just love all these new details!
I love today’s strip. They are all so sweet, especially Puck, but I don’t understand the lines about the spoons. Could someone here please explain them?
Elvis, it defeats the point of whispering if you then yell and hiss at the Man :) So good of Mommy’s special boy to protect her when she’s ill. Love Puck and his pats, such a kind and gentle soul
Good morning Georgia & the Mega Orb! Best wishes, bumps & boops to all the denizens of your personal orbs! Special thoughts to Font Lady and her orb & orbabies!
Lady Bri, how is your hubby’s back? It’s been a while & he’s had a lot of moving in that I’m concerned about. Weren’t there tests?
May I please ask for bumps & vibes for my Hubby? He’s having gut issues that we hope aren’t connected to his belly button mesh. He thinks he felt it shift & now he’s got “issues”. Hope it’s just the typical stuff. Thank you!
May you all enjoy blessings in this downward stretch of January! >^.,.^<
Whether feline or canine, they know your emotions and want to help you.
Back in July I had my right hip replaced and both of my cats, especially the male, wanter to snuggle right up against it. It wasn’t allowed, so I’d put a pillow against the hip and they were allowed to be on the other side. Indirect love :)
I can’t add anything except more AWWWWWWs….this strip is so sweet. And Georgia is such a great artist. Just a couple of squiggly lines so perfectly convey the Woman’s distress that I almost feel sick myself, looking at her. My favorite line is Elvis’ “It is crucial that the toesies be kept roasty.” That’s my tortie Gwinny’s motto in sickness AND in health.
What you see on the table is a can of ginger ale…the thing protruding from the top isn’t a honey stick or a straw…it’s the pop-top of the can that’s been opened
Well, this one is timely. I’ll be crawling out from under Big Cat in an hour to go to the walk-in clinic. I’ve lived on crackers and plain yogurt for days, but have resisted the urge to throw up behind the fridge so far. :-D
Good morning and happy Bunday, BCN orbsters! I’m feeling a bit under the weather today, but sending warm bumps, boops and hugs to all who need them, especially Shaunnmunn’s hubby, Lady Bri’s hubby, and Font Lady!
Long ago, I was once in a lot of pain, back from the dentist (the fiend). When I came back to my bear cave, the cat was there, to give me company and drive my pain away. That cat never came near me and never let me touch it till that day, even though it gobbled up all the free food I used to give it. But that day, it wanted me to pet it all day. A coincidence? Cats somehow know when you need ‘em? Sixth sense? They’re really mind reading aliens? We may never know!
I went to see Wayne last night. He is doing very well, and will be going home with his younger son today. (I just got off the phone with that son.)
Unfortunately, I ended up having to take my boyfriend to the emergency room when we left the rehab. He has pneumonia, and will be spending the next several days in the hospital. They were keeping him in ICU overnight as a precaution, but should be moving him to a regular room today.
The pain and difficulty breathing came on him very suddenly, so they did a CT scan last night to check for clots. I have not heard anything about the results, so I’m hoping that’s a good sign. (We were together most of the day Friday, and he was fine.)
@Burke129529: I don’t know why but for some really weird reason GoComics wouldn’t let me reply directly to your comment above :( :( :(, but this is what I meant to reply to you and have been trying to reply for like over half an hour: (( ((extra special orb bumps and boops, healing thoughts, and prayers going out to you and your boyfriend)) )) I sure hope he feels better soon and glad to hear he was feeling fine on Friday.
Re the Clucky Chicken thread from the other day, seven years ago when my cat Tucky was 2 we moved to almost the Canadian border to work on Native American reservations. In the move his favorite toy, a pink squeaky octopus, was lost. I found it today and squeaked it and Tucky appeared like magic, ears peaked on top of his head. He’s carrying it around now, a middle aged cat with a pink squeaky dog toy. Happy as a clam.

Indeed … lots of great dialogue here, as others have said. The fridge line made me laugh most, for some odd reason, and the last panel is touching. Well done, Georgia.

Puck is so selfless, allowing the Woman to be the big spoon! Sometimes humans feel extra cozy and secure being the little spoon too though, guys!

Elvis says take a number, Man. Only when he and Puck approve will the Man be allowed near the Woman. Until then, the hissing will continue.

My cats seem to prefer Lupin’s favorite means of getting over illnesses. Tea and British mystery shows just don’t cut it.
