I thought the shoulders were elevated because the artist had drawn those shoulder pads that idiot designers installed in women’s clothes awhile back, allegedly because some women’s shoulders weren’t evenly matched.
Mr. Rogers never had to worry….he used those straight wood hangers, “fresh off a tree”, rotated his stock, and slickly switched out from sweater to sweater, each day. It’s probably why his song was so long, trying to work his apparel onto all the racks and organizers and such….
You are NOT supposed to hang sweaters on a hanger. That’s what drawers are for. I alway hate when I am shopping in a store and especially when you get to the clearance rack and find sweaters hanging there. All stretched out with bumps from the hangers. Who’s gonna buy that?
Ideally, sweaters should never be hung. They’ll stretch out. They should be folded and stored flat. But if you do hang them up and get those bumps, just pat them down with a little water and they’ll flatten right out. I get those on my knit tops all the time.
Why would anyone HANG sweaters?? They will stretch downward due to gravity and get should humps regardless of how carefully the arm-shoulder seam are placed – GRAVITY. Sweaters are to always be folded and stored in drawers. They are also to be dried over sofa – not chair because the back is thinner. Sofa is more puffy. No matter how low you set the dryer for sweaters, they still shrink – as long as there is heat, they shrink.
Steve and I both have broad shoulders and even the hangers that are supposed to compensate for that don’t succeed. Yes, our closet door tends to stay open, and we have Quaker peg boards over the closet doors to hold some things that are too wide in the shoulders.
Joe, I am wondering if Ann walked off with Tiffany’s phone. ???? If so, Tiffany’s dad likely has paid for it and Tiff could call him using Les’s phone or a Fuse phone and tell him that someone who tried to sell her counterfeit clothing stole her phone. Then he could have the phone traced and the police would find Ann with it and with any remaining trademark and logo violating counterfeit goods! YAY! I sooooooo hope for that.
When but a mere pup I had learned the evils that hangers can do to sweaters, which is why all mine reside folded up and stashed in drawers or on shelves…. Luann should know this, too!

Guys don’t have to worry about that. All of our clothes just end up on the floor anyway.

Never say all you know, Bernice. Just let Luann think you are ultra-observant with an unfailing memory, no matter why.

And that’s the moment when Luann realized she had a new argument for why she leaves her things lying around….

Never hang sweaters. They make for cheesy Sunday punchlines.

Can’t argue with a successful cartoonist, but this story line is starting to wear thin. ’Bout time Luann got a little romance in her life.
