I’m glad this is what we’re having the Pentagon work on.

So, how soon until Trump says he was “Just Kidding” about his “Grand Military Parade”?? EVERYONE is laughing at this INCREDIBLY STUPID idea, and we KNOW he hates when ANYONE laughs at him… Also…D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser on Wednesday responded to the idea of the parade, saying through a spokeswoman that if Trump wants to hold a parade in D.C., “he will have to pay for it” himself.

I keep wondering if he is going to want the soldiers to goose step like the Nazies and North Koreans.

I think all us old balding men need to watch the parade while wearing ill-fitting grey suits with medals on them; just like the old soviet apparatchiks.

In “Catch 22” the parades consisted mostly of soldiers fainting in the heat. (You know, we could REALLY use Joseph Heller these days…..)

During my thirty-three years in the military, I never heard of any of the ranks ask to do a parade. Spend more time with their family maybe, but…

I’m already seeing lines of “thought” that explain a military parade as honoring our veterans and active service personnel. Why, they already hold them on military bases; the public just doesn’t realize it. At which point someone in the service tries to explain the difference between a boot camp graduation march and a Soviet-style parade. AND THEY ARE BEING CHIDED FOR BEING un-American.

There is a reason Trump wants to do it before November 1 and the military says “Veteran’s Day” is the earliest.

CBSnews.com : “Dates discussed for the event include July 4 and Memorial Day, which is May 28. According to the Post, however, the Pentagon prefers it be held on Nov. 11, which is both Veterans’ Day and the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I.”

Maybe the military brass will be able to slow-walk this proposal similarly to the way they have slow-walked the transgender ban proposal. Trump’s attention span hasn’t shown signs of being very long, and he is bored easily by details and process.

Trump wants the parade before the Nov. 6 mid-term elections so as to provide a rallying point for the GOP candidates. To hell with history (celebrating the end of WWI on Nov. 11). It is all about trolling for votes.

Who’s ready for another shutdown? Looks like Rand Paul suddenly has a problem with all this government spending.

    OR, my theory:

Rand Paul is holding up the vote to give Trump the political cover from having to veto it after calling it great. Trump wants a shutdown because the theatrics of chaos distract from his inability to govern.
