After their inability to just shoot Tracy, the villains’ biggest repeated blunder has to be their insistence on returning to the scene of the crime.

How’d they find him?

So despite Pierre’s outward solicitious attitude, he was planning to kill his employer all along and take the Simon Stagg swag—but why did Ghost try to kill Tracy earlier because he should have known if he did that he would be suspect number one!

Moreover, didn’t Pierre promise Ghost to call a mob doctor for him earlier?

Care to explain THIS ONE oh loyal defenders of the scribe? after WEEKS of a chase and escape and scrambling to find a hiding place we are rewarded with an “off panel death”? And how exactly does Pierre know that “Ghost is done for”? Was he there to witness the event? Well thank God SOMEONE was because it sure wasn’t the readers! Unless of course we are “treated” tomorrow to the “remains of Ghost” being carted out of the aquarium

Looks like Pierre’s next job will be preparing Fugu in prison.

Pierre believes that Ghost is done for, as instead of fetching a “Mob doctor,” he plans to take the money and run. He left Ghost alone and bleeding from a gunshot wound. He has no reason to assume Ghost has a ghost of a chance. Pierre is happy to double his take on the murder of Stagg, but Tracy and Sam have other plans for the Chef. I think the food at Stateville Correctional Center is going to take a turn for the better. Did Phishface knowingly direct the boys to a bogus hidden closet? Very likely. Threatened at knifepoint, Phishface would have said anything to get them out the door. Criminals are not honest and many are not smart. Needless to say, Ghost’s days eating from a silver spoon appear to be over. Tracy has a fresh change of clothes and sling. Sam has a toothpick and a gun. The jig is up.

Pierre, that low-down double-crossing scoundrel (no honor among thieves!), is going nowhere fast, except to the old greybar hotel.

A lot of nice details in today’s offering: the female beat cop; the Silver Spoon Award (ironic) on the wall next to the safe; and Tracy with his arm in sling and Sam taking the point position (and pointing his weapon at nonplussed Pierre)….
