Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Here we have, not just one, but two views of the dead body! First, itâs on the stretcher, covered by a sheet except for the top part of his head, and secondly, dead in the tank, with Manuelâs tentacles wrapped around him. Ghost is not coming back from the dead. He can be safely added to the death list.
Now weâll never know why Ghost offed Simon Stagg and itâs obvious Metamorpho who hangs around Simon Stagg isnât going to be making any guest appearances unless itâs to claim Staggâs body.
My only (admittedly mild) complaint is that Gould would have stretched the death scene out over three or four days. I sâpose modern standards and practices sort of preclude thisâŚ
Death by manâo war stings is extremely rare, tho the side affects mimic those of allergic reactions, such as swelling of the throat/larynx. Normally the stings do not kill humans but cause severe welts that look like whip lashes which usually go away in a few days, the stinging effect also normally goes away in 1 to 3 hoursâŚ. for Ghost to have been killed, the man oâwar would have HAD to wrap its tentacles around his bare skin to begin the sting⌠salt water stops the effects of the stings, usually cleansing the skin of the âstingersâ.. the only bare skin that Ghost was exposing was his hands, feet, neck and face and unless the man oâwar wrapped the tentacles around those exposed areas, it is highly doubtful that the stings would have affected him
Didnât know there were "restrictions anymore. They certainly donât seem to apply to the Moon Maid et. al, redundancies. Adios to a good villain. Letâs move forward not backward. Maybe with Phishface?
Today we see pretty much what we (or at least many of us) expected to see. Ghost Pepper is âdead fish deadâ on a gurney in panel 2, with a very quick and brief flashback in panel 3 to his death scene, in the stinging tentacle of big, bad Manuel. I regret that this is about as graphic as the censors will allow, because âdeath is too uglyâ for our delicate sensibilities. (Case in point: newspapers have taken to self-censoring anything âtoo grislyâ for the masses; years ago, the Chicago Tribune published a photo of corpse that had been, if I recall correctly, thrown from a car accident and impaled on a fence or something like that, and it was on page one, I think. There were many objections, and in subsequent years, even wartime deaths have become Forbidden from being shown. I think we have regressed. But thatâs just my opinion.)

What, exactly is Chef Boyardee going to be charged with? What have we seen that they can pin on him?

Iâd wanted to see his demise, but I donât think i want to see the results. Weâre talking ââMan-Of-Warââ here.

Pierre was being flippant, but Ghost really was âsleeping with the fishesâ
Jonathan K. and the Elusive Dream Girl almost 7 years ago
This is as close as we will get to actually seeing a Gouldian demise of a villain, because of the restrictions placed on Joe and Mike.

Next on the Menuâ-Flintheart in front of a curtain then to the next minute mystery. Then to the crossover with The Green Hornet.

Tracy owes Pierre an apology. He WAS sleeping with the fishes!

Before things head off into the next crossover or âMinute Mysteryâ, Iâd like to see the back story on Ghost, Pierre, and StaggâŚ
And Iâd like to see the wrap up of the âMoon Governor, Honeymoon, Ugly Crystal, Mr.Briberyâ arc and what has transpired sinceâŚ
Then, go on to the next story lineâŚ
