Can’t wait to see how many resignations we receive today.

It’s important to lodge an expression of interest.

Um, okay. I know every artist has given Nancy different quirks. But this version is starting to get a little dark.

Nancy seems to be a little ahead of herself! I wonder if she’ll begin to carry an ax next. Look out Fritzi! And Sluggo, behave!

And the techno complainers get their wish.

I guess they both want Sluggo.

I seem to recall this being a gag from the Bushmiller era as well…

I was wrong. They won’t be best friends. They will be worst enemies. Both of them after Sluggo.

Nancy’s new friend looks like Sluggo with a wig.

Nancy’s skirt shouldn’t pass public school regulation length. Her bad attitude fits, though.

Well, Nancy is an artist. The likeness to Sluggo is there, though he looks more like Sluggo in a “Dilbert” cartoon.

And she doesn’t have to worry about Sluggo. He doesn’t go for girls like Esther, who is a little plain (Nancy is the only “plain” girl he likes). Most of the girls Bushmiller drew that “wowed” Sluggo looked like miniature Fritzi’s.

Wow, Nancy is a little “possessive” today.

THIS Nancy just isn’t funny.

Oh, cut her a break – after all, she’s been after him for 80+ years…

The thing is, these aren’t even portrayed high school kids. So it seems a bit early in her life cycle for Nancy to have such a strong possessive thing about Sluggo…

Funny but disturbing! :D

It’s almost like Ernie’s little heroine was abbreviated, then dragged to and kept sedated in a… highly-controlled and lobotomized, robotized, authoritarian alt-universe – - not really Ernie, but, hey, it could work. Yes, this would be somewhat dark, but herein have a solid base for comic tension.
