Good grief!

So I guess it’s not all sweetness and light in the Unicorn World.

In Linda Chapman’s “Unicorn School” series of books, that would have gotten Marigold an “F” in the charms class (Damaris, the charms teacher, taught her students about both charms and curses [including creating charms], but only—as she told the class sternly—so that they would know how to avoid curses, which were also contagious by touch). Not having parents, maybe Marigold was home-schooled by her aunt (the one who gave her the large invisible thing that she occasionally misplaces). I have no idea how one could have an aunt but no parents, but I’m sure that “Unicorn!” explains it… :-)

I can’t help but imagine the sort of “curses” Marigold was selling back then were rather tame. Like, a curse for your enemy to stub his/her toe at worst, for example.

Marigold’s not selling that kind of curse.
