Our dog is a rescue from a shelter, our cat is a rescue from some idiot that dropped her off on the street…..glad she found us.

Our last three pups were rescues, there’s no better feeling for both the rescue and the rescuer.

Pixie-girl is my rescue, she is a pug mix, kept in a cage, took forever for her to learn that cuddling and kisses were allowed.

A lot of pure bred rescues are left over puppy mill dogs. They are scared of humans, showing a lot of intelligence. But, once they trust you they are just as wonderful as they average dog, which is pretty wonderful. If you want a dog that is already in love with people, find one whose owner has had a change of conditions that no longer allows them to care for the dog, or just play with the dog and find out what their personality is like.

My son has two rescue dogs and my daughter has one. All our cats over the years have been rescues.

Over the years, all my cat companions have either been rescues or they just showed up at my house and never left.
