This made me LOL so hard I think I woke somebody. Our Siamese, Takashi (aka Squid) absolutely LOVES Cheerios. Insists on his own dish, as well as the rights to the remains of the hoomuns dishes whenever he sees the box leave the cupboard.
This is hilarious. Larry and Bagheera both loved the kitty brush, but I think itās just a boy thing; Blossom seems to find it offensive! I suspect she just thinks sheās already pretty and doesnāt need any help grooming, LOL.
But in her defense, sheās at least never gotten Cheerios in her fur!
THIS JUST IN! Trouble on the set of BCN, where it appears anchor Elvis and Senior correspondent Lupin are on the verge of coming to blows! Video shows station groomer and stylist Georgia āIām not outta here, but I amā Dunn restraining the two network starsā¦.
This has been my two all evening since my parents left (they were over for a bbq as itās a civic holiday tomorrow, Dean was asleep the whole time and Sam doesnāt like any visitors) ā growling, squalling, and scrapping. After something went thump loudly, I closed the back door so they couldnāt go on the back deck anymore (most fights start out there, usually over bugs or viewing spots). Now they are pouting in the open window ā itās a fairly regular occurrence :)
Elvis has cracked the code! Itās the Toddlerās fault. Now the Boys can blame everything on him. āŗOkay maybe not hairballs but most everything else!
I, like the Woman, have tried to verbally break up cat hissy fits. For me it usually doesnāt work and ends up involving scoops after the boops start.
Ha! This reminds of the trio, I am dealing with now! Iām kitty sitting my brotherās cat, an orange male taby, named Tiger. When ever I try to give Tiger some attention, my two tabby and whites, Cassidy, a male and Tigger, a female, get so upset! So far their fights have been nothing but air swiping and loud hissing, signifying nothing!
My two will be doing their mutual grooming of the other, when it starts getting too robust. Iām grooming you. No. Iām grooming YOU! It quickly escalates into a full on wrestling session. He gets the upper hand, or so he thinks. She settles it by going for the āgoalposts.ā Disagreement over.
Very timely for our house ā Sunday is always brushy day. Most of them like the Furminator and when I sit on the sofa and yell āBrushy!ā they come running. Even the ones who donāt really like it will put up with a few passes, and when itās over I usually have a softball sized wad of fur to throw out. One cat who has very thick, short fur, will usually get in line two or three times and I suspect there are some who, like Lupin, just want to see another cat get brushed against their will.
There are always fights when I pull out the brush or comb. The fights are over, Iām next, no Iām next, no youāre not I am. Then I have to try to brush 4 cats at once, tis very hard to do.
There has been an incident on my living room throw rug ā¦ questions are being asked, paws are being pointed, and the rug is being washed. Despite the looks of innocence Iām fairly certain who the culprit is ā Mr. ādonāt you touch me with that brush or Iāll chomp your arm offā Sammy. I suppose I should be glad the hairball was left on the easily cleaned rug and not somewhere I could step in it while half awake :)
The Queen is dead. Long live the Queen. My sisās 17-yo longhaired house panther Zoe crossed the Rainbow Bridge this morning. :-( Iām changing my avatar to her sweet furry face as soon as I can find the picā¦
Good afternoon, orbsters and orbabies, we are home from our weekend at the cabin. Yum Yum crawled into Paulās lap as soon as we sat down. She has been purring there ever since.
Mom and 2 kitten ferals on the back deck. 12 weeks? Not sure. Feeding now for a couple weeks. Mom has now only been showing up maybe once a day or not at all, but the kittens hang out quite a bit. Looks like they are weaned since we see no more nursing going on.
This AM we trapped one of the kittens and are waiting patiently for number two. The first is in isolation in the downstairs bathroom getting some quite time. Will add his/her sibling as soon as we snag the critter.
Kittens will become part of the family. We hope to also trap mom so we can spay and release. I doubt she would be keen on becoming an indoor humanized cat. We have a kitty condo on the deck, elevated, heated in the winter, heated water bowl. So, she may decide to be a sort of kept puss. We shall see.
Kitty katz, Shaunn asked me to check up on you since I was on the board. She is a bit concerned that we have not heard from you for a few days. Hope everything is going well, and you are hard at work on a new ditty!
It is time for another edition of: There Should Beā¦
*There should be Breaking Cat News specials on TV.*There should be plushy Elvis, Lupin and Pucky available.*There should be an adult in the White House.*There should be more Breaking Cat News Books ā perhaps we could find a kitten to shamelessly plug the merchandise in a book store (hmmm, foreshadowing?)*There should be an award for Georgia Dunn for making so many people smile every day.
Lupin knows how to press Elvisā buttons, and is prepared to defend their wrestling title at the same time. Although it does look more like handbags at dawn rather than wrestling is about to occur.
Both kittens are now in the bathroom settling in. Weāll give them a couple days to acclimate and to work with getting them comfortable with the giant humans, then off to the vet for check ups, worming, sexing, etc.
This strip reminds me of the time I visited a friend with a half(?) grown kitty who was very aggressive. I was sitting on the sofa when he attacked my side. I turned an HISSED loudly at him while lifting my āpawā. Kitty backed up, turned his head to the side and slitted his eyes and didnāt attack me again. They are not that difficult to reason with when you find the right words.
Well, Smokieās _________ at me. 92 degrees, sheās been begging out on the porch and Iāve been telling her no. Someone came in and she proceeded to run out on the porch even as we both tried to stop her. I went after her and she hauled it then looked back like "ha ha, you canāt get me. So I went around the other side of the porch and grabbed her. Sheās been sulky and trying to block me from doing what I need to since. Too bad, but itās too hot out there for me and I donāt have a fur coat.
WARNING to cat owners in Washington Stateā¦I just saw an article on the WashingtonPost website about a serial cat killer in the Thurston County area..Also mentioned Olympia and Tacoma. Seven cats killed and mutilated. Lots of warnings on social media and in print. Keep your cats indoors! Pass the word to all our commenters who live in the area. There are some real sick people out there. One brave cat fought back and authorities hope to get dna samples from her claws.Heart is heavy for the grieving cat owners there.
