I used to bowl leftie but after an auto accident (a bus hit my car – twice. He didn’t know he hit a car the first time! Idiot ran a stop sign at that, but I digress) I tried switching to right-handed. I could not change my approach for love nor money! I have clunked the ball just like Janis, I had it drop behind me and S-L-O-W-L-Y roll down the next lane (where the poor gent was in the 10th frame of an up-til-my-ball-crossed-the-line perfect game – hey, I told him to go before me!). I never knew veins could pop so much! I also got my foot stuck in the gutter which required removing the shoe then prying the shoe out of the gutter. I quit bowling. I can’t support the ball with my left wrist anymore and I can’t seem to end on my left foot so… Anyways, Janis needs to hang it up!

Janis’s approach seems little off.

Um, Janis, it’s bowling, not softball.

I knew they were going, but that was yesterday. I had no idea they would actually get there and, you know, like, bowl!

This – is the surest way to get the alley manager angry with you, and put you on the short list to not return… don’t do this…

That is NOT how the legs should wind up for a rightie.

Watch what you wish for, Arlo. With that much oil you’d have a hard time staying erect.

She bowls the way I do. Wait until her hand gets stuck in the ball and she slides face first down the lane.

I always bowl overhand and never even touch the lane.

I have floors like that, tongue and groove oak recently refinished with a commercial poly.

The last time I went bowling was in 1999, and my right knee still hurts!

Not the approach, that looks ok, it’s the “launch”. Needs some practice letting the ball go sooner.

when are you going out to the farm?

Little too much loft there?

They must be at a very old alley, lanes are made of plastic today.

You actually can buy those old bowling lane floors. TV show Salvage Dawgs did a vouple of time. Just check in any architectural salvage place.

She could take lessons from “The Most Interesting Man in the World”, he bowls overhand.

I’ve done that. Worried I’d left a divot on the lane.

Janis doesn’t know her current strength.

At least Janis didn’t flip the ball behind her. That is really embarrassing!
