I read a story once that forced intelligent people with scruples to be president for 4 years. If they do well, they get to retire. If they do poorly they are forced to do another 4 years. ;)
Assuming that all politicians are guilty of something is basically saying that Democracy doesn’t work and there is no point in trying to do anything about it. That’s a cop out. If you want Democracy to work stop whining, figure out who is the best ( or at least the least worst) and get out and work for them. There are only about six weeks until the election. Have you researched the candidates? Have you contacted the office of your chosen candidates? Have you donated money? Have you made any phone calls? Have you canvassed? Democracy only works if people who want it to work make it work. Now, I have to get down for my noon to 6 pm shift at my candidate’s campaign office, I’ll be waiting for your call.
